Sensei Doug Yates has been teaching karate in Xenia Ohio since 1976 and has produced some of the finest martial artist in the World. At Doug Yates Karate we instruct students in the art of traditional Shorin Ryu Karate and Kobudo.
The student will learn respect, discipline and humility. They will develop confidence, coordination and a winning attitude. Students are also given the opportunity to compete in local, regional, national and global competitions. Members of Doug Yates Karate National Champions Training Center have been bringing home gold and silver medals from around the World for several past decades and will continue to do so into the future.

Services
Our programs are designed to progress the student through different levels of Martial Art training. Goals are established to aid in the students progress. These goals are found within our belt ranking system. A set of requirements is given to each student. These requirements must be met in order for the student to move to the next level of training.

I'm a student at Yates Karate and have been for two years now. At first I was apprehensive to start Karte since I'm in my 40's. That all changed. The teachers are encouraging and wonderful. The classes are always different so we don't get bored. The dojo and the people in it are like my family. I would highly recommend!
