At The Virginia House, we are proud to offer a smaller, more home-like setting for older adults. We believe where you live should feel like home; and when it comes to caring for our seniors, smaller is better. We provide three home-cooked meals a day and assistance with daily living. The Virginia House is located in a traditional home in the Maxwell Gardens neighborhood of Newport News.

Meet Lisa, founder and owner of The Virginia House. She is dedicated to improving the care of seniors who require moderate to maximum assistance with activities of daily living, including memory impairment. When her own mother was in need of an assisted living home, she realized there was a need for better care and a friendlier, warmer environment for seniors.

I wouldn’t recommend anyone to work for this private business !! I worked in this place for the past 6 months and never been so HAPPY and at PEACE to no longer be working here !! The owner Lisa is very unprofessional .. She don’t want anyone to work for her company that has braids & I feel like that’s racist cause only Black American Wear braids .. She hire people to work for her business that doesn’t have a PCA nor CNA license and have us doing things that we shouldn’t do and if we was working in a facility we will get in trouble .. she has visitors come in and

The Virginia House is truly a home! In fact, upon first seeing the living room, my mom exclaimed, “ It looks just like mine!” The real difference between The Virginia House and larger assisted living facilities however lies in the personal care that my mother receives. My mother, who has Alzheimer’s disease, had been in three different memory care facilities in four years and had become very agitated and anxious. My Mother has been here for two months now. She is very happy with the care that she is receiving and enjoys the companionship with the caregivers at The Virginia House. Lisa the owner has done everything she said she would do. If you are looking for a place for your Mom and want the best care possible this is the place. We are ecstatic about The Virginia House!
