Silver Moon Bakery
Entering the bakery, one immediately sees a traditional bread oven, visible even through the windows. From afar, customers smell the heady aroma of crusty loaves being baked throughout the day. As food historian Karen Hess wrote, "Silver Moon Bakery has brought the baguette back to Broadway!". Taking the time to concentrate on slow rising, traditional methods of baking, is one of the secrets of success of Silver Moon.

Our selection of cakes which are always available showcase the range of taste possibilities we have created. All our "everyday" cakes are available by special order in larger sizes, feeding up to 100+ guests.
Services
Lemon curd filled lemon-infused vanilla cake, moist and delicious, covered in coconut shavings. A rich, delicious cake covered in berries, chocolate cake crumb wall and a wonderfully unctuous mouth-feel. A lovely design of delicate mixed berries nestled atop a rich pastry cream filling, surrounded by our signature butter crust.

One of the few normal bakeries left. They have fresh baguettes, croissants, breads, and all types of pastries. Come early enough and watch the bakers bake. They always seem to run out of madeleines, but their other pastries are just as delicious.

The croissants here have the exterior crunch factor that is missing from all the other croissants elsewhere. Be sure to drop when you are in the neighborhood.

Their prices have gone thru the roof. Just got a three kings day pie, cost almost double from previous years. $45 for medium sized!! Used to be $29.

Ordered two Sourdough Baguettes while I watched one of the bakers over knead a boule of dough before it was proofed in a banneton. The flavor our baguettes was good. Although the dough was over mixed and under fermented. This resulted in poor crumb structure and a very dense final dough. Was not worth the calories.

If you're looking for a great bakery on the Upper West Side look no further than Silver Moon bakery on 105th St. and Broadway. The staff is always super nice and attentive, and the bakery 's prices are relatively reasonable. Everything I've ever tried from here has been fantastic and it leaves me wanting more every time. Sometimes on the weekends however expect to have a line but it is totally worth it. My favorite things from here are the sugar-free cookies if you're looking for a not-so-sweet sweet treat. They also now take Apple Pay.

They have nice stuff but the counter people need some training. Prepare to wait and then watch as they wait on a line jumper. If you call them, prepare to have them hang up on you. After many years of patronizing them, I don't plan to go back anytime soon.

This bakery is one of the best that I have been to. Almost anytime I come to Manhattan I stop by here to get their Ethiopian bread and a sweet pastry or two. I love their apple tarts.

The food is fine - pastries mostly . Prices are ok a little high. The staff is uniformly rude and uncaring. If they're being especially nasty I just walk away.

Worst coffee in town. I asked for a latte and the coffee tasted burned, probably sat in the pitcher for hours. Ordered an iced tea as well that was just colored water. Maybe the doggie biscuits will save the day, but I doubt it!

The bread is just fantastic, as are the pastries. Absolutely worth the price. The palmiers are a triumph. I could eat them every day. Really.
I’m afraid their chai is watery and bland, but they are a bakery, not a cafe, so maybe one ought to temper one’s expectations there.

Silver Moon Bakery and Cafe came into view when I was walking along Broadway and arrived at 105th Street. I was looking for another bakery that I couldn't find on the other side of the street. Silver Moon Bakery is on a Corner and really looked inviting! It definitely was beyond my expectations. Variety is the key when it comes to their breads. You can get many nationalities in one bakery. Everything looked so good. I decided to buy a Corkscrew Sourdough Roll for $2.50 because it looks delicious. It's hollow inside but feels heavy. I'm not sure I'll add anything to it. I&apos

Silver Moon Bakery & Cafe is a solid place for savory and sweet bakery items. There is always a line but totally worth the wait. Love how generous the cheese portion was in the Gruyère bread. Would recommend they offer heating them up for their customers!

This place is wildly overrated. It’s not bad, but it doesn’t deserve the energy it gets. Come here purely so you can take instagram photos, not so you can have pastries that are remarkably good. I’ve had several of their croissants and chocolate chip scone and am left disappointed every time. I think it ultimately comes down to the fact that the texture of their pastries is off - it’s like you’re eating plastic.

Often overlooked amidst the many capable contenders for favorite cookie in NYC, I believe Silver Moon's gooey-yet-crunchy, chewy-but-soft chocolate chip cookie. merits its own moment in the spotlight.

Before we get into all the textures and flavors on offer in this single, handheld item, I feel I would be doing you a disservice if I failed to start, as the name does, with the chocolate. The entire pastry is honeycombed with massive, disk-shaped coins of it. This is lightly-bitter, richly-flavored dark chocolate packed into the softball-sized cookie at such a volume that seems a miracle the

This is my go-to bakery for birthdays or special dinners. I highly recommend the pear frangipane (which you can usually get in a small version for yourself or a large version for a group) - one of my favorite treats in the city!

This is a little slice of deliciousness that caught my eye as I walked past the front. 15 minutes later I had multiple little cakes and pastries in a box and took them for the kids, who really enjoyed themselves. lemon tarts, cheesecakes, choc dipped strawberries and more. so yum!

I had heard alto about this bakery. I have been off sweets for a month but decided to give my self a treat after a 5 mile walk. I only ordered a espresso and nepolian. The Espresso was fine, but the supposedly flakey layers between the sections of the pastry were way to thick and hard. I could not break them with a fork. Kind of like a graham cracker in consistency. Verdict no return

Went for first time. Really sweet lad at counter. Amazing, Marie Antoinette bun with slightly floured exterior, fluffy inside with few, random orange peels and a chunk of chocolate, 3 or 4. SOOOOO GOOOODD! This is it back at my studio, ready to wolf!

I love this bakery! I can say, without hyperbole, that their chocolate-almond croissant is the best I've ever had (and it often sells out quickly!). I've tried so many of their pastries and every one is outstanding. If you're in the area, definitely give them a visit!

I came here for a quick snack and I will definitely be back. I ordered a cheese puff which was quite tasty and I always get excited when I see dog treats. The cheese puff was great; soft and a mild cheese flavor. Everything was about $3.50 which to me is a really good price. I want to come back to try other items. They also have outdoor seating which was the perfect fit for today's great weather. I do think someone should clean the tables regularly. I did see everyone was busy working so I am not sure if they have an available person who can clean the tables.

I loved this cute little shop. Awesome staff and delicious coffee! I really wanted to order all kinds of bread, but I stopped myself. I settled for a scone. It was very very good. I ordered a caramel macchiato. I asked them to put some cream in it for me. It was delicious. Next time I'm in the neighborhood, I will definitely go back

The only place I know of in the neighborhood with freshly made bread, albeit a bit pricy. I really like the cheese bread, brie sticks, and butter bread. The best feeling is when you hold warm bread between your hands on a cold winter day. One of my favorite breakfasts was spreading honey goat cheese and roasted tomatoes on a slice of the butter bread.
Aside from the bread, I haven't felt wowed by any of the pastries.

As soon as they reopened the doors, people are lining up for fresh coffee, breads, baked with love, and vegan sandwiches.
I am not vegan, but today... why not? Goat cheese, cucumber, olive tapenade, lettuce.
It is healthy, it is fresh, it is ok. I would stick to buying whole breads and making my sandwiches.

I was supposed to have pizza, not bread but the line outside caught my eye.

I looked them up on Google and the reviews had me sold. I bought an ice coffee because a lot of customers were walking out with one. I'm glad I did!! The coffee was delicious and didn't taste cheap or what I describe as a sock dipped in hot water flavor.

I also ordered the glutten free blueberry muffin. It was amazing!!! I then went back for the glutten free bread. The pic I post is better than any description.

The staff BTW we're lovely. I'll def be back

My friends got me my birthday cake from here and omg it was so good. It was called Chocolate Decadence cake. Layers of chocolate cake covered with chocolate mousse and whole thing covered in even more chocolate (look at that shiny exterior!) was as rich as it could get. Please don't count calories while eating this. The ratio of cake:mousse was ideal. The sugar might be a bit too much but someone with a sweet tooth couldn't care less about it.

Can't really comment much on the place since I have not personally been there but maybe soon coz I want more of that decadent goodness.

Old school style bakery that seems to be disappearing from the NYC neighborhoods..

They carry an assortment of tasty breads and pastry products. Hot and cold drinks.

Sidewalk seating under an awning for shade. Friendly service and decent prices. The quality and portions are good for what they charge. They carry some pasty items that are hard to find for sure.

Warm and cozy atmosphere, and that wonderful aroma of breads and pastries when you walk in the door. Oh, and if they have the Nutella Cruffin in stock get it. I really enjoyed that one out of the bag of things I brought home. My one gripe

Conveniently located on the UWS, Silver Moon Bakery is a local favorite with the quintessential atmosphere commonly found in your classic slightly cramped, rustic style and yet bustling baked goods establishment. I bought the chocolate chip brioche and chocolate babka. The brioche was amazing! I loved the darkness of the chocolate filling contrasted with the granular sweetness of the sugar sprinkled on top. The chocolate babka on the other hand left something to be desired. It was certainly dense with chocolate and had nice braids but I wish the chocolate flavor was less sweet and more akin to
