The Stone Oven Bakery & Cafe
Russian immigrant, Tatyana Rehn had a craving for the hearty, crusty breads of her European homeland and could not find them in her new home in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1993, she began making her own bread and before long found herself working at all hours of the night to shape loaves for friends and family.

What started as a passionate hobby later turned into a business. Baking and selling her bread to local restaurants and grocery stores, Tatyana provided many Clevelanders their first experience of hearth-baked European bread. In 1995, Tatyana and her husband John left their secure engineering careers behind and opened their first bakery/cafe.

Had lunch at the Stone Oven today. It is a nice place that breaths some life into the Galleria. I wanted egg salad, but they were out. I then wanted tuna salad, but they were out of that too. I settled in a Caprese sandwich, which was good. I wish it would have had real basil versus just pesto. I got the potato salad for a side and it wasn't my taste - had a strong mustard taste and a lot of peppers. Ordered a Chai tea latte which was tasty.

I frequent the Woodmere and Cleveland Heights locations on a regular basis, but it's been a long time since I visited this location. I arrived just before the lunchtime rush. I ordered the Chicken Caesar wrap with a side of couscous. There was a bit of a wait, because the staff was in the process of setting up for lunch. This location doesn't have as big of a selection, as the other 2 locations, but all-in-all, there is still a variety of items to choose from. My order was to-go. I arrived back at work, a little disappointed in the size of the wrap (for $8.35), but the flavors

There was a fly in my salad. I found the dead fly after eating 1/4 of it. Do not eat here- not only were they not apologetic, they were upset that I stated this out loud other customers to hear.

I called to see if they would run a piece of cake up to the office building for my best friend's birthday. They did and for zero delivery charge. Such kind people, can't wait to use them again!

Walk-up counter in the Galleria food court. Haven't tried the baked goods, but the sandwiches are first rate. Their egg salad on rye was wonderful.
