Services
2021 has been a challenging year from weather to delays with barrels shipping over from Europe. But it will be worth the wait! It's been a cool summer with chilly foggy nights, delaying ripening for our old estate vines. So far viognier is in and a few varietals that were sourced from Paso Robles and Santa Rita Hills have arrived as well.
Koehler Winery's rustic-inspired tasting room and estate grounds are open daily from 10am to 5pm. Tastings for groups of eight or more guests require reservations. Please contact Dan Zurliene, our Tasting Room Manager, for more information or to reserve a group tasting. We look forward to seeing you!
All club members receive free wine tasting when visiting the winery (up to 4 people), a minimum of 20% discount on the retail price of all wines and gift items, a chance to taste new release wines before the rest of the general public and invitations to our annual wine club party and numerous open houses during the year.

A great place to bring a picnic and enjoy their wines. The outdoor space here is spacious and beautiful. With lots of picnic tables all around the property. We always have a lovely time here. The best part is you don't need to have reservations, they will happily welcome you to enjoy their winery.
A family friendly place, the kids love it here.

Visited Koehler as the first stop on a wine tour many years ago (SB Wine Adventures maybe?). Husband and I were members of Sunstone and Shoestring for many years when we lived in SB so hadn't been back here. Ended up at Koehler a few weeks ago while vacationing in Solvang during the week and had a great time! Dan was pouring, super friendly and we had a great time chatting with him. They have a great variety of wines to pick from and we like that they don't specialize in Pinot Noirs (not fans). The tasting menu allows you to pick your six and Dan was happy to accommodate revisits if we

It was my first time wine tasting at a vineyard and Dan made it an incredible experience! He's knowledgeable about the history of the wines & helped me understand the notes. The wine was phenomenal & I ended up going home with a bottle. The whole experience felt very comfortable and friendly. You can tell this is a place people come back to for the wine and the company.

We came here on our way to our final destination. It was open early on a weekend and we called first to confirm that we didn't need reservations. We were excited because they said they walked in and they also had emus! We were pretty excited as we drove in. The tasting was done outdoor which was a big space with different areas that you could sit at. We loved the emus. We weren't limited to what wines we could taste which was nice and we picked among a selection of whites and reds. The whites were very tasty.

Totally not sure why it took me decades
to write this review. We learned of this winery on a wine tour when we were youngsters. We've been members ever since and visiting at least 2-3 times per year for more than the last two decades.
Gorgeous grounds with plenty of seating areas so you can picnic and enjoy. No rush whatsoever. Just pure relaxation and enjoyment of the gorgeous weather!
Wine is delicious. Reds always a fav but we have grown to love the whites too. Easy to drink and at a great price point.
BUT what keeps us coming back is Dan! He is the best. He is witty and funny and

It cracks me up to read the reviews here that speak ill of Dan. Those people just don't get the vibe of Los Olivos and more importantly, Koehler. The area is very laid back and chill. There are some wineries pouring relatively expensive wine, but not overly expensive wine. If you want a five-star stuffy experience, then go spend your money in Napa. If you want to relax and enjoy the personality of the wineries, then spend your day in Los Olivos.
Now about Koehler... Dan doesn't take himself or the outstanding wine he pours very seriously. He has been running the tasting room for

Really enjoyed our time at this winery. While so many if the wine options is Los Olivos are in the downtown tasting rooms, this was a breath of fresh air.
The outdoor space was lovely. Lots of green space, grass, trees, and even an emu farm! There's tons of space for seating as well for all party sizes. There happened to be families , a bus full of people, and couples all over and everyone fit swimmingly. We brought our own food there and ate it while we did the wine tasting.
Wine tasting was $20 / person and included 6 tastings. We were able to revisit a few of the wines as well.

This was winery #2 on a 3 winery wine tasting tour. Would be 5 stars for grounds, lots of picnic tables and ambiance, but Dan's sense of humor came across as stinging and ridiculing toward my husband when hubby wanted to try a red wine first.
Dan "jokingly" chastised him and told him he wasn't a true wine drinker if he dared have a red before white, and continued to "jokingly" harass him. It was off-putting and actually made me a bit mad.
Hubby likes red wines, plain & simple. Why should we be subjected to ANYONE'S scrutiny for liking what we like? In customer

This is an adorable place. Super friendly to gatherings of friends, they have picnic tables and seating areas and allow you to bring your own food and enjoy yourself. I would say about 50-60% of the wine was estate grown which is always nice to see. Tastings are $20 for 6, our party got two tastings and then a few glasses. The Grenache blanc was refreshing and went well with the cheeses we brought: triple cream and ibérico. Sangiovese was also a crowd pleaser for us. We got there early (11am) bc we heard it gets crowded and the people did ebb and flow during our time there. It's a great place

Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon about 11:30am.
There were several groups of people already in full swing.
What's nice is that you don't need a reservation.
They have LOTS of seating spaced out all over.
We shared 1 tasting which gets you 6 tastes of your choice.
I forgot to take a picture of the menu. (oops, my bad)
I think there were about 12 or 16 wines you could pick from. So... lots of white and red options.
We ended up liking several of our tastes so I ended up getting a mixed case.
If you buy 12+ bottles... you get a case discount and they comped our tasting.
And they ship in

If you haven't been here and experienced Dan Dan The Wine Man you're missing out! This place is everything that's right with the wine tasting experience! No pretension, just friendly service and great wines. We love Dan and he makes us laugh every time we come in. He's the heart of this winery and truly makes the experience great. We've been coming here for over 10 years and they continue to provide an excellent experience. This is a must stop!

First time visiting this winery while I was in Los Olivos. I liked it. The wine was good, the property is large with tons of seating areas. Buy a bottle, don't buy by glass, it's expensive. More bang for the buck purchasing a bottle to enjoy. If you're ever off Foxen Cyn wine trail it's worth the visit.

Koehler has one of the most beautiful grounds! They are very family friendly and you can bring your kids and dogs so everyone can have a great experience. My kids had a blast looking at the Emu and sheep on property.
Dan is the absolute best!! He is so funny and knowledgeable. He explains all the wines so well. We enjoyed everything on the tasting menu, so many options. Our personal favorites were reserve Chardonnay, rose, GSM and Dan's favorite Sangiovese.
Can't wait to return!

We stopped by Koehler Winery during our bike ride on Foxen Canyon Road. They were the only winery that didn't require an RSVP, which was a big plus for us since we didn't know how long it would take us to ride there. They had ample outdoor seating and an outdoor tasting area. We not only enjoyed trying their wine flight we also enjoyed some cheese, meat and crackers that we purchased there as well.
Out of the 6 tastings we both had, my favorites were the 2016 Chardonnay Reserve and the 2016 Syrah Reserve. The hubs enjoyed the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2016 Syrah Reserve the most

Koehler Winery was our first stop this past Sunday on a day filled with wine tasting, in part because they open early at 10 am. We arrived just a minute or two before they opened and enjoyed the area outside by the parking lot where an emu (or ostrich?) was hanging around. We also enjoyed the friendly cat that was hanging out both inside and outside of the tasting room.
Service here was definitely unforgettable. The guy pouring the wines when we were there was very funny and sarcastic, yet knowledgeable. The jokes gave way to both a fun and unpretentious atmosphere. Overall, I thought the wines

We were new to SB wine country and were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful countryside. Dan, sales manager at Koehler, took his time to talk about the wines he served us and also about wine making in general. The weather was cloudy so we stayed inside, but the winery has great outdoor spaces. If you're in this region, I highly recommend stopping here.

Going to wineries such as Koehler’s really makes you wonder why anyone goes to the tasting rooms in cities. The rolling hills of vineyards as you drive up set the mood and the professional yet amicable staff knock it out of the park with tastings of delicious wines. The cats on the roof, the emu at the neighboring fence, and picnic tables with beautiful, old trees providing shade, all serve to round out the very worthwhile experience

The wine here was just what I like and fun, entertaining yet knowledgeable staff who know how to make you feel comfortable tasting great wines. Always nice to have some to enjoy once we get home when you find something you like. Space on patios and lots of beautiful picnic areas if you plan ahead and bring your own fruits, crackers, cheeses and just enjoy the peaceful setting at this Winery.

As far as the wines, I’ve tried them twice and haven’t really liked any of them. So there’s that. However, as far as the service goes, both times I’ve been here the people have been super friendly, informative and willing to talk.
While I can’t necessarily recommend the wines, I can certainly recommend the people. Go give them a try for yourself and if you also don’t like the wines, you’ll at least meet some new, awesome folks.
