Services
We are a family run clinic with a focus not only on your pet but also on creating a trusting relationship with you. We want you to feel involved and comfortable with all medical decisions regarding your furry loved one. For this reason, we schedule extended exams and will always get your pet in the same day if he or she is sick.
Doctors Alex and Casey Erickson are the owners and practicing veterinarians at Cambria Veterinary Clinic. We are committed to high quality medicine and patient care, and also believe that you should have a doctor for your pet that you trust to offer you guidance and options in caring for your 4-legged family member.
I was born and raised in northern California and began volunteering at our local animal shelter with my sister at the age of 10. I moved to San Luis Obispo County in 2000 where I continued to pursue my education and love of working with animals. I received my Registered Veterinary Technician license in 2010 and have since worked in general practice, emergency medicine, high volume spay/neuter clinics and shelter medicine.
Want to give your pet a longer life? How about a life with less pain, and lower chances of diabetes, liver or kidney problems, or heart disease? It's easier than you think - we just need to cure your pet's periodontal disease. Between 70 and 80% of all pets over age three have some degree of periodontal disease.
Keeping your pet healthy is important to us and regular wellness examinations are the foundation to helping them live longer, healthier, happier lives. Wellness care includes comprehensive nose-to-tail exams, early disease detection and candid discussions about your pet's lifestyle and the goals and desires for your four-legged family member.

I wish Yelp offered 6 stars for places like this.
Since moving to Cambria a few years back, I was in need of a good Doc for my 14 year old lab mix who was in really great shape - and I wanted to keep her in that condition. Her name was Pupaya and she was a Daddy's Girl who needed no leash in most places. I took her everywhere so she could say hi to as many as possible, she was a true sweetheart. The team at Dr. Alex's Cambria Vet Clinic went out of their way to welcome us to the practice and provided the best possible care for my pup. They did an outstanding job in keeping her happy

While vacationing over in Cayucos my 50 pound Doodle ripped one of her toenails exposing the quick. I contacted this vet's office at 8:15 a.m. And they were able to see her at 9. We were greeted very kindly upon arrival, filled out a little bit of paperwork, and they got her right in. The doctor was very thorough in his explanation and options that were available. Because my dog was in pain I opted to go with a small surgical procedure to have the toenail and the quick cut back, so healing/pain would be minimal. I left her with them, and received a call at 11 o'clock letting me know

We were so excited to know how helpful Cambria veterinary was in removing a tick from our little dog. We had been camping in San Simeon and were on our way home. We knew our dog was uncomfortable and wanted to be sure she would be ok during our travel back home. The nurses and vet took very good care of our dog. Wish they were closer to where we life! Thanks again to the extremely friendly staff!

I can't say enough good things about Cambria Vet Clinic. Drs. Alex and Casey are so knowledgeable and caring that I would never choose to take my three senior dogs anywhere else. And Melissa and Hannah, and all the other staff whose names I can't recall, are always happy and smiling whenever I see them. You can tell that they all have a great love of animals.
In addition to their regular vet care my dogs also board at the clinic on the few occasions when I have to leave town. I am so comfortable leaving the "girls" there since I know they will be well cared for and will get

Ok so I must leave this little veterinary clinic 5 stars!
We were in Cambria camping and had no idea about tics!
Where we live we have none, we spotted two ticks on our frenchie and called them.
They got us right in and didn't even have to see the dr.
They removed the tics and checked our other dog to be safe.
They instructed us in how to treat them for tics and sent us on our way.
All of this for less than a basic exam back home.
What a great service in a little town!
So glad we found them:)

This is by far the best vet I have been too! They are so friendly, knowledgable and caring! We just moved to Cambria and we were pleased to find a vet that cares so much about the pets and owners. Our first visit was with Dr. Casey and we are very pleased! We honestly could not ask for more in a vet than we have here.

Don't live in the area & messaged them nearly 3 hours after closing for boarding info. Received an immediate reply with pricing & their requirements (vaccinations & such). Unfortunately their hours don't work for this trip BUT based on other reviews & the quick detailed response I'd definitely use them in future.

We just moved to Cambria and had our cats boarded here while we were moving. I can't say thank you enough to the Cambria Vet Clinic! The cats were so relaxed and have never acclimated so quickly to a new home.
I can tell they really cared for our 2 cats and we look forward to continuing to bring our pets here for years to come!

Let me start with we are not from this area, we camp at Pismo and Morro Bay several times a year. We were at Morro Strand Campground when our 14 pound Poodle, Quincy got a Foxtail down deep in his right Ear one night, much deeper than we could find or get to! He was miserable all night in a great deal of pain, I was desperate to help him! First thing in the Morning at 7:59am I called Morro Bay Veterinary Clinic, I got no answers but a promise we'll call you back, I call them three more times over the next 40 minuets and got nothing but will call you back! I then call Cambria Veterinary Clinic

Cambria Veterinary Clinic has the kindest most compassionate staff that I have ever encountered. They took amazingly good care of my Addie during her healthy years and helped us through the difficult times near the end of her life. I really can't say enough about this Clinic, from the friendly and efficient front desk, to the cutting edge care Addie always received. Thank-you to Dr. Alex and the entire staff. Hope to see you again in the future.

Visiting from out of town, I needed a place to leave my two Yorkies for a few hours while we went to Hearst Castle. I spent a lot of time and effort reading reviews from Doggy Daycare to Groomers and Pet Sitters in the area. I settled on Cambria Vet Clinic based on their reviews and the bios on their website - and so glad I did. Dr. Alex responded to my Yelp inquiry In less than an hour. Hannah was sweet and accommodating on the phone and answered all my questions before I made my reservation. Two reasonable options available, $24 for half day (up to 5 hrs) or $29 for full day. When we arrived

My pug Koko has been seeing Dr. Casey for acupuncture and I'm shocked at how much better she is. She has issues with her back and had been seeing Dr. Alex for regular checkups, he recommended trying acupuncture. At first I wasn't sure, who doesn't recommend the new service their wife is offering right?? But it's worked wonders for my little one!! She's in less pain which has made her a much nicer dog. I'm so happy to have this family run vets office in our little town and it feels really good to support a local business and family.

I was actually just in town for a few days when I noticed my Mastiff/ American Bulldog (Nixon) wasn't eating and wasn't acting himself so I made an appointment for an examine. They wanted to run some blood work and it ended up he needed to be on some antibiotics for an infection. The results were fast both vets were extremely helpful and honest. The vet techs here really make you feel welcome! Awesome experience while I was passing through.

Although I really like Dr. Suzy when she was on maternity leave I had to put my dog down it was the worst experiences I've ever had at a veterinarian clinic.
When we got there all they had was a little towel on the floor for us to lay the dog down on we had to tell them to get us something softer for our pet. Before Dr. Suzy left on maternity leave we had discussed what we would do when the time came and we also discussed the price so when I took my dog in I was expecting to pay the price agreed on.
The doctor came in and she asked me if I wanted to use a sedative. I was really taken aback
