Our story started with a desire for freedom in our business and an unshakable entrepreneur spirit. We wanted to have total control of our vision, build our own community of dancers and dance to the beat of our drum. The journey was not always easy but every challenge was worth it. We started teaching in local dance studios and worked years on growing our business.
The Foxtrot has been America's most popular dance since 1913. Introduced by a Vaudevillian named Harry Fox, it quickly became the standard of social dancing. Foxtrot is a great dance for beginners, as it teaches the novice variety, maneuverability, and how to combine steps easily. The music for the Foxtrot is any slow to moderately slow Big Band or pop music song, or "slow dance".
Tango was the romantic rage of the 1920's in the US, introduced to millions by silent screen idol Rudolph Valentino in "Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse". Born in the West Indies and stylized by the gauchos of Argentina, simmered in the brothels of Buenos Aires and brought to a boil in the elegant salons od Paris, the Tango is considered a "dancer's dance".
Originally, the Rumba was a lively, peppy dance similar to Mambo in its feel. Over the years it has changed, and is now the name of a slow and romantic Latin dance. Inspired by African rhythms and Latin melodies, the Americanized version of the Cuban Rumba is the basis for the Mambo and Cha Cha. The Rumba is a pre-requisite for good Latin dancing, and helps sharpen your sense of rhythm, timing and muscle control.

Gilda was simply the best! By the time our wedding rolled around we were confident and well coached and as a result able to executed a perfect first dance. Not only was Gilda patient and professional, but she was an expert at her craft and able to articulate every move to someone with little dance experience. She really made the process fun and we both looked forward to all of our appointments. We are very thankful we found her and signed up for her classes and couldn’t recommend her more!

There’s no words can describe how incredible our experience was with Gilda. We came in as a very beginning level but we wanted to have something fun and memorable for our wedding. So we did a little mashup dance with a mixture of ballroom and hiphop. Gilda were very friendly, professional and patient with us. Everyone at our wedding was in shock of our dance, we keep receiving compliments of how beautiful and fun it was, thanks to Gilda. We also love how flexible the time is, she always works around our schedule. We really appreciate your work Gilda, which helps make our day a little more special

Gilda was the best at helping a mother dance WAY more than the son/groom thought was possible or necessary. She choreographed a fun doable series of dance styles and kept it fun and motivating. We appreciated her professionalism and leadership guiding us through rehearsals as well as being flexible with our schedules. Now said mom needs another occasion to put together lessons and a dance!

What a great time! My mother and I took dance lessons In preparation for a fun mother/son wedding dance. Gilda was our instructor and it was fantastic. I was nervous at first, but it ended up being more fun and provided quality time. Location is good, and Gilda is patient, thorough, personable, and really uses the time in class efficiently to get the best value for you. She can show you some good stuff!

I am very satisfied with my experience at Surge Ballroom Dance Studio. From the very first call where the person who helped me was very professional, helpful, and attentive, I have found that the theme of these qualities have stayed the same through the process. I originally called to start dancing as a part of date night with my wife [in the midst of Covid 19] and I was promptly given options to start, asked what dances I had in mind and educated briefly on several dance options. An appointment was set, and here we are on Lesson 4 and my wife and I are very happy.

So glad I found this studio on google! Instructor was helpful, patient, personable and very professional. I am an ex dancer myself of 13 years and can tell a good instructor from a bad instructor. My wife and I are so lucky to have found Ballroom Surge. I believe I came across it in a search that started on Google. I must say that the previous reviews and pictures were somewhat intimidating because many were of beautiful weddings and events that had me convinced my idea of just learning how to dance with my wife a little too small for this Studio. But I called anyway, and I haven't been disappointed.

This place was absolutely amazing! My fiancé and I decided last minute that we wanted to take dance lessons for the big night, and they were able to choreograph and teach us a beautiful dance in two short lessons! They were incredible teachers and made us feel comfortable with our two left feet. I wish I had a video to share!

My wife and I contacted Surge Dance studio to get lessons for our first dance at our wedding. We were partnered with Caleb and could not be more satisfied with the pairing. Caleb was excellent. He did a perfect job of crafting a dance that fit our style and song and personality. He created a welcoming and fun environment that put my wife and I at ease. Caleb took the time to get to know us individually and was genuinely interested in our story. I would (and have) recommend Surge Dance Studio and Caleb for any dance lessons, especially for a first dance wedding song.
