Wow! I had intended to write a review about Dr. Salkin but had no idea I'd see similar experiences on here! I went to her only one time many years ago and found her to be completely nasty, impatient, and rude. At the time, I was new to vision correction but wanted to try contacts. I needed teaching, not only about the health of my eyes but also how to properly care for and insert contact lenses. It's like she couldn't be bothered, and whatever type of contact lenses she gave me completely hurt my eyes. I chose to throw them away (with the money I had spent) rather than to return

I've been going to this doctor for 22 years. She started out great. But in the past 2 years, she kept telling me I need to change my contact and took 5 momths this last time to do it. It still wasn't right. She charges $185 for one gas permeable bi-focal contact.
I just went to another eye doctor in Ridgewood, an MD from Johns Hopkins who only
charges $110 per lense and is correcting her incompetance. She is a different person than what she was. And yes, she too charges for all kinds of crazy extras.
She bills my medical insurance and vision insurance. But is you lose a lense outside

I had the exact same Experience about 10 years ago. She asked me if I wanted her to clean my hard contact lenses and then charged me something like $20 for rubbing them between her fingers. Would never ever go to her again. Wish I could give her a negative star

Visited this OD once.... and only once. Is not personable and downright nasty. Also billed me OVER my co-pay with some outrageous bogus fees. Wold NEVER go back to her and would not send my worst enemy to her. In fact, I would rather lose my vision than visit this eye doctor again......
