The Crab Trap was established in 1967 when Jack Wallace purchased what was then known as Maenner's Cafe. At the time, Maenner's menu included tap beer and sandwiches and was served to local Somers Point residents. Today, the menu is much more extensive and they have become a favorite of many folks from far and wide.
We believe you will find our group function/banquet packages to be surprisingly affordable. Whether it be a small luncheon for 25 or a reunion of 100 friends, our professional coordinators are ready to discuss your plans and help you determine availability of your selected date. Look, the food is good, not outstanding but good but overpriced. Went there last night and the place pack as usual, even more so. After about 30 minutes finally got a seat at the bar. Took 15 minutes to get a drink. 3 bartenders hustling but it took 15 minutes to get a drink. Why? Our guy was also taking care of meals at the bar, which took up 1/2 of his time. All the money this place makes, have a waitress take care of the food or put on another bartender. Finally had enough and went to see what the wait was for a table for dinner. Over an hour. Out the door. Went across the road to Charlie's

We went there for dinner tonight. My daughter and I ordered the exact same thing. We shared the crab bisque which had lots of crab in it. We also ordered the Crispy Grilled Crab Cakes in white wine sauce. Excellent! It also came with a side salad. Also fresh bread and blueberry muffins for the table. My SIL ordered the special of halibut in a tomato. He thought the fish was over cooked for his liking. For an appetizer he got the crab imperial in an onion ring which was good. We ordered the two peanut butter pie slices and apple pie slice to go. Service was excellent.

Wow what a great place. The sea food is super fresh and delicious. I got there soup 1-1-1 (that is a sample cup of each of their signature soups creamy cab bisque, new england clam chowder & maryland crab soup) All three were delicious. All meals come with freshly baked bread and butter so it was a very filling meal. So if you are looking for great quality sea food at a good price i promise you will not be disappointed

I was really expecting to enjoy my food here but I didn't. I am being generous with three stars. I must say the waiter was wonderful I wish I could remember his name because he was great. But the food wasn't . We ordered the lobster bites very good. (I ate them before I took the picture). I love seafood and really wanted this to be good but the second Mate broiled was not it was very bland not alot of flavor but I did like the deviled crabmeat and clams. The fish just wasn't welled flavored. I the scallops were good. We also had the brussel sprouts they weren't good, no flavor.

Great food and Service. I was looking forward to the clams on the half shell from the Crab Trap before I left Florida. Their clams are always fresh and a nice size. We first went on a Monday night and were told it would be a 90-minute wait. On a Monday in September, this place was packed. That is testament to their great reputation and food. We returned on our last night in the area - this time at 5:30 PM to get on the list. Our thought was to get on the list and then return later if it were also 90 minutes. I was determined not to leave the area without my clams and a visit to the Crab Trap. As

The Crab Trap is U Do It Approved. I ordered a bowl of clam chowder, a salad wuth balsamic and crab cakes. Disteff1 ordered a steak and Brian ordered clam chowder. The hosts are stressed out so be patient. Our waitress was amazing. Be aware that you can't make reservations and the wait times are sometimes very long. Be kind and tip well. They deserve it.

Sat at the bar where Tory was our very friendly and attentive bartender. Our waitress was Selena who brought everything in a timely fashion. The crab bisque soup was so filling and delicious, plenty of crab mean in it but also got a few shells. I ordered the Mahi dinner. Was disappointed in the sauce the whole dish was drenched in considering it mentioned nothing about a sauce on the menu. Overall the food is really good here and you can tell it is fresh. I would eat here again and recommend it to people.
