I don't usually come to this place but yesterday I was very close and it also seemed like a good idea to support local businesses. I bought two inner tubes for my bike but the prices are excessively high. I pay $ 20 for each inner tube when I usually buy the same one for $ 6 or $ 7. I have no idea why the price is so high but good luck with that.

I tried this local shop having recently moved nearbye. I had a friendly experience with whom I ammume is the shop owner. His suggestions didn't line up with the fear I should of purchased. In the future I will do more research but I'd expect items sold to be held to a standard.. A used set of tires were not in working order which I also bought specific tubes form.

The wonderful person I spoke to on the phone didn't have what I was looking for, but when I came by to pickup the next best thing, they recommended a better solution for me, even though they didn't have it in stock themselves. They really took the time to make sure I got what I needed instead of just selling me something that wouldn't work. Stupendous customer service.

Popped in right at closing for a front derailleur adjustment. Generally walking into anywhere in Portland within 30 minutes of closing will get you a solid case of stink eye and likely no service if not a locked door because they decided to close early. But they were so accommodating and friendly! Set me up fast and even showed me a feature about my derailleur that I didnt realize I had! Thank you for such fast and great service, will definitely be back for tires and anything else I need in the future!

One of the WORST EXPERIENCES of my life was in this store the other day. About 30 years ago I bought a raffle ticket through the church and won a Trek bike. It was too small for me, but I put it up on a trainer in the back bedroom and over time I used the rims on another bike of mine and thought to sale (GIVE) the frame to the neighborhood bike shop so that they could spruce it up and pass it on to some younger person in the neighborhood. The frame was in mint condition. The owner of this store said that I "stole" the bike frame, she called it "junk", and she told me to leave

The bike mechanic here is extremely reasonable, and super nice! I brought my single speed in for a couple worrisome issues, (back brake wasn't working, crank was clicking) and he fixed it for much less than I expected. He even found another issue that he fixed gratis (kickstand was loose). I will definitely go back for service.

Jimmy and Sue are exceptional shop owners. I've been taking my bikes here for at least a year. When comes to personal customer service and great pricing for fixing my bikes. I'm a daily cyclist. It's very nice to know I can roll in and have it fixed within a few hours. They exceed my expectations every time.

Nice they have a manual pump for public outside, but l have gone in 3x and left without service or parts because prices where double shops closer in...really disappointed l must drive elsewhere, but. $20 for flat here vs $10 and $14 down the Stark/Burnside at next two shops. l am an average neighbor and can't afford my local shop. I think l saw their bike sign $100 for a tune up...l paid $70 elsewhere that also included cost of new cables and brakes.

This is a story to share, around a year ago I was storing my friends bikes and suggested to consign them here at O B S.
So we bring the 2 beach cruisers in, one is an older schwinn my friend thinks it worth more than the shop owner and he explains that he just wouldn't feel right charging that price to the public, anyway we agree on prices for both and he shares that the shop charges 30% and I'm thing sounds about fair. So my buddy not sweating the money forgets about them , so it's a year later I drop by and share that I never heard anything on the bikes and he says he sold them

This place came highly recommended so I decided to trek on over to get a bike worked on. Jim was friendly, helpful, & courteous. The location is off the beaten path but was definitely worth the drive.
The bike was serviced. They also went out of their way to make it look like it was brand new again. Impressed with their quality of work and fast turnaround.

I've actually never reviewed a business on Yelp, so that should say something about how great this place is. It's so great it will make you download yelp and want to say nice things about the shop. Awesome owners, great friendly atmosphere, no egos, and friendly as heck. Like any intimate shop you may walk into- be respectful and be respected. Oregon Bike Shop is a microcosm of how we all want the world to work.

So I caught a flat.... Isn't that how many bike shop reviews start? Mine is no different. I was doing a little healthy exercise by biking up Mt. Tabor park and I stopped a little more than halfway up. I saw my rear tire was down. A quick yelp search and I found the Oregon Bike Shop a little more than half a mile away. Thankfully, it was mostly downhill.
Five minutes after arriving my bike was being worked on. My tube got pinched inside the tire. Kind of a freak thing. No punctures in the tire itself. All fixed and back on the road. Fast, friendly and only $16 for my troubles.

I really love this place! I am so incredibly happy that it's my neighborhood shop! Jim and Sue are so friendly and you can tell they genuinely care about their customers and bikes! On top of the great customer services their prices are beyond reasonable! They put my bike together and gave it a tune up, while explaining to me what was going on, for only $65! I will be giving ALL of my business to this little shop!

I really wanted to like this place but when I came in the store tonight and asked them to fix a broken spoke they just looked at me.
No "hi."
No "how's it going."
There were three males sitting around drinking beer and a female employee stocking stuff.
One of the three people asked me a million questions about my bike and the wheels. Most of which I couldn't answer because I ride bikes a lot but I don't know bikes. Honestly, I felt a little interrogated.
After telling me it would take 45 minutes (really? It's a spoke! Shouldn't it take 15?) and

Another Oregon Spring brings another Oregon bicycling season on, and that means it's time for me to get things in gear (literally) with my two-wheeled-road-whip. My choice is Oregon Bike shop because 1) they're in the hood, 2) their service is fast, friendly and on-point, and 3) their prices are competitive.
This time I rolled in with a flat on my rear tire. Time for a new tire and tube, so I had it replaced. On the spot. Reasonable price, good tire. Since I had no idea I was so low on tread (I don't pay as much attention as I should) I decided to bring the front wheel in for a

This is my neighborhood bike shop (I pass by at least three other ones on my commute to/from work) and I've had nothing but great interactions with Jim and Sue. They are courteous, attentive, and prompt.
I've gone to them to replace a back wheel, and to get a totaled bike evaluated after an accident.
Like I said (and is the case for anyone in Portland) we have lots of options for bike repair and maintenance. Oregon Bike Shop is my go to place!

My new favorite neighborhood shop! Excellent, kind and knowledgable employees coupled with timeliness and professionalism gives this company an advantage over the competition. Not a lot of bikes to choose from but quite a few accessories at completely reasonable prices. I plan on doing a lot business with them in the future and telling all my friends how much these guys rock!
