My lifelong obsession with fitness began more than 25 years ago as a college freshman at Emory University. I was pre-med at the time, but when I stepped into that freshman PE class, I knew this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Over the years I followed my fitness curiosity, leading to certifications in Pilates, yoga, group fitness, Kettlebell Sport, personal training as well as Thai massage.

I've traveled the world teaching and training a mature clientele, exclusively. I have dedicated my life to learning all I can across physiology, biomechanics, kinesiology and pain relief as it pertains to aging gracefully and sharing what I know with my clients. My expertise is functional fitness, Kettlebell Sport and post rehab strength training.

I have been training with Michele Schlanbusch for over 18 months. I came to her once I had retired, at age 60. We set up a schedule, meeting twice a week. Michele and I connected immediately, both being from the east, with a good sense of humor. I have had personal trainers for years, and it’s so crucial to feel a sense of connection. I personally don’t enjoy going to a gym, but if I can look forward to being with my trainer, it’s much less unpleasant. I have told Michele, going to the gym is like hitting yourself in the head with a hammer. It feels so good when you stop.

I was enrolled in Michele’s Silver Sneakers class at Nimble Monkey Fitness, and when that class couldn’t continue, I switched to personal training with her. I loved the Silver Sneakers experience, but personal training with Michele tops it. She’s very sensitive to where I am at any point in the workout and always knows what I should do next to deal with how I am feeling or doing at any point. The workouts leave me energized, if not sometimes a bit tired from all the activity, and when I’m done I’m ready for the rest of the day. My balance, flexibility and strength have improved significantly

It is with pure joy to let the world know how fabulous Michele is on every way. There are not enough accolades in my vocabulary to sufficiently describe just how incredible of a person she is. Michele is very knowledgeable about the body and how our muscles affect our movements. She incorporates Pilates and yoga with her workouts and has great equipment and weights to add to the mix. It’s always a thorough workout. She is an encyclopedia of exercises and has the ability to zero-in on the best exercises for my fitness which many times reveals my many weak spots as well!! If I can’t do an exercise
