We rented a 6 seater bike on mother's day weekend and the gears gave out on the left hub about a quarter mile into our ride. Consequently, we had to turn around and return the bike which was twice as hard to do since we could only pedal on one side. Needless to say, it was exhausting and although the offered us another bike, we were too tired to ride anymore.
The clerk advised me that he wouldn't charge my credit card so I gave him $10 cash to show gratitude and support his business. Unfortunately, my credit was still charged, which is why I'm posting this negative review. I trusted his word and

Good bikes, good service, all very easy. “Isaiah” was very friendly and helpful. Great way to see more of the park. The only concern was that they tried to charge $14/hr versus the quoted $8 when we returned the bikes. They adjusted w/o issue though (which is good since we only ride for :45). Lots of traffic in park on Good Friday)

Rent regular bikes. DON'T RENT SURRY CYCLE. The company says "Surrey bike rentals are fun for the whole family, with everyone pedaling and taking in the sights together!". Not true. You will be miserable and not doing much except trying to make it back alive. And for rest of the day and next you will be sore. Otherwise the customer service was great and prices fair. I would rent again, but go with regular bikes. And PS: We are not elderly, unhealthy or overweight. This thing is a heart attack on wheels for such people. The weight of the metal on this device, with lack of gear options on cycle make

Parkwide is a really cool service that isn't executed all that well.
I was told one price ($27) at the Fort Mason location when I picked up my bike but had to pay another ($32 + $10 (the $10 I was aware of)) when I returned my bike. I don't have a problem with the higher price. I do have a problem with a company that makes a mistake like this.
The bike I rented also had some flaws (the bell didn't work and there was no indicator for the back set of gears).
The operating hours of the locations was also very poorly marked. For a company that caters to those who want to do longer bike rides than
