How did we get here? Many years ago, I started noticing that urban cycling was no longer a fringe activity. People were starting to see us as early adopters rather than freaks. Warm Planet Bikes fills an important niche market in the bicycle business by specializing in folding bikes and electric-assist cargo bikes designed for urban living.
All the bikes we sell are professionally assembled and tuned up before sale. Each bike includes one year of service, free. Any labor covered by a standard tuneup is free for one year (parts and consumables not included). We also handle any manufacturer warranty claims, because sometimes things happen and we'll be there for you.
Unlike some companies that sell over the internet and follow a "once you're out the door, we don't know you anymore", we pick quality brands that support their product. If you discover a manufacturing defect that is covered by the manufacturer's warranty, we will contact the manufacturer, and do all the replacement labor for free.
If you want a high visibility family bike, check out the new HSD performance in Limon from Tern, also available in a bright blue. Bright color isn't the only good thing about this model. Tern speced the more powerful Bosch Performance motor, bigger 500 watt battery, and faster charger. This is NOT the bike on Tern's worldwide website.
The HSD is mighty but mini: It's easy to handle, easy to share, extremely comfortable to ride, and carries a whole lot of cargo. In a compact design that's shorter than a standard bicycle. Whether you're riding, storing, or moving it around, the HSD is a breeze to handle. It's shorter than a regular bike and its weight is the same as a regular ebike.

I am looking to replace my old electric adult trike purchased on line and this time before purchasing a new one I wanted to make sure that if something went wrong with the new one there was a repaired shop that could repair the brand I was going to purchase since my first online trike purchased, no one could clear up the problems and hence a waste of money.

Kash gives the kind of service you'd get if you had a close friend or family member who also happened to be a bike expert and dealer. Bikes that are functional enough to replace a car are complicated and tend be fitted out with lots of accessories and options so they can do the job, and Warm Planet Bikes is my go-to place for figuring all this out.

I went there for service on Saturday and the service technician said he didn't have time to mess with my bike.
All I needed was my wheel trued. Had a bad attitude. He did not like me asking for help.

I had been having issues with my chain occasionally falling off of my big ring since last fall. I had mitigated it a bit by replacing my chain and adjusting the derailleur but it still wasn't perfect. I finally brought my bike in to Warm Planet and within days they got it back to me as good as new - I was able to smoothly shift into my highest gear without fear of a dropped chain for the first time in months. Very pleased!

Excellent service, friendly and fair pricing. They double checked their work and helped me through quite a long process as my part was backordered for weeks. Shop is quite busy so make sure you call ahead and get a slot, don't try waltzing up if possible. Have to mention the surrounding area isn't so... appealing so it's nice and smart to set up an appointment, get in and get out quickly. Recommended

Kash and Ted got me back up and running on my Fuell Flluid E-Bike. No small feat. They worked with the manufacturer to diagnose the issue which turned out to be the torque sensor buried in the motor casing. They thoroughly tested everything before releasing the bike back to me. I am back in the saddle and my bike rides better than ever. I highly recommend them for e-bikes and working with products that are not generally available. A few other bike shops turned me a way.

Fate brought me to Warm Planet Bikes. I was trying to find a bicycle shop that was open on a Monday so that I could finally have a flat tire repaired, and get a tune-up while I was at it. My normal bike shop doesn't operate on Mondays, so I found Huckleberry Bicycles to be open, but found out when I got there (after walking my bike from the Lower Haight) that they're not currently doing repairs (no hard feelings, COVID-19 & all...but I was disappointed). I did a search for alternate bike shops, and found Warm Planet Bikes right across the street! Kash answered the phone promptly,

Helpful, knowledgable, friendly and professional staff. We had a great morning testing two cargo bikes. They're willing to ride one to San Jose if we need them to deliver! I'm deducting one star because of the location. We went on a Saturday morning and my wife and baby daughter turned back, it was utterly terrifying. Even I was scared to go near the store. Hordes of shady characters were hanging out on the street. At the store to the left there was a man roaring while his dog urinated in the doorway. To the right a transient was lying on the ground barking at passers-by, and all around

Had a bike issue due to some vandalism that needed attention & I was miles from home. They were busy but still accomodating with great customer service and helped me with an urgent repair at a really fair and reasonable price. Couldn't recommend enough and will be back for any issues I have with my bike in the future.

Incredible bike shop! I've been a customer since 2012, when they were at their Caltrain location. Staff is knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and patient. Prices are comparable to the rest of the city but the staff will throw in whatever little freebies they can to help you out. Go here, you won't regret it!

Amazing service! I walked in with a "tacod" wheel that all the other bikes shops just waved off saying it's unrepairable or that it isn't worth it. Just buy a new one, they said.
At Warm Planet Bikes they took a look, didn't commit but promised to do their best. And their best they did.

The shop owner at the front is great. Always a smile and pleased to help you. The mechanic in the back has a knowledge base like no one else in the city. It's super chill here I feel calmer just buying an inter tube somtimes. My bike always comes back in better condition. I go to these to above all others Also,( best price in town)!!!!
