We believe that great wine is made in the vineyard, so a significant amount of energy is focused there. Montemar sources all its fruit from top vineyards in Santa Barbara County by leasing specific blocks and controlling all aspects of farming. We have been doing this for quite some time and some of the vineyard blocks have been under their control for over 15 years.
As a vineyard-driven winery, the winemaking process is very meticulous but does not vary widely within varietal so the distinctiveness of each wine is attributable to the vineyard source and year. Steve and Caryn Arrowood owners and winemakers of Montemar started making wine in their garage in 1991, sourcing fruit from Santa Barbara County to Napa and making upwards of 14 barrels a year.

Services
By sourcing fruit from multiple vineyards across Santa Barbara County's varying microclimates, we're able to ensure the fruit is grown in the perfect environment for those varietals and the distinctiveness of each wine is attributable to the specific vineyard source and year.
Also, as the fruit ripens at different points throughout the harvest period, we are able to take our time sorting on-the-vine and/or at the winery and destemming the small volumes coming from any particular vineyard.

We're very happy we're open for tastings under the latest Cal/OSHA and CDC guidelines. We have implemented measures for everyone's safety, including reconfiguring the space to provide social distancing. Masks must be worn to enter and at all times indoors when not seated at your designated seating area.

Nestled inside Lompoc's Wine Ghetto, a cluster of Wine Tasteries representing the famed Santa Rita Hill wines, Central Coast favorites, and more.
Montemar Wines is truly enjoyable the moment you walk in. I have never had a negative experience and everyone is very amicable. The wines they feature are a combination of local wines and their own as well. I always end up finding a new favorite whenever I visit.
Their most stunning feature which is perfect for large groups, is their backyard area. They have ample outdoor seating with a whimsical Giant Lawn Chair taking main stage. By far one

Beautiful tasting room. Staff was very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. I arrived with my service dog and they are very welcoming. All the wine was excellent. Also if you love Pinot Noir you must go here. The have hands down the best Pinots I have ever had. 10 out of 10. Will be a repeat customer.

Our server was super informative about the wine. We got to tour the back area where they were processing a new batch of grapes. I was offered to pick some veggies from their garden. I loved tasting the Pinot flight. There was no food service due to COVID. We brought lunch, cheese and nuts. I will go back.

We came here last year and loved the wine and came back again this year and loved it again, so much so we joined their wine club! And love that they adjusted the wine club! We did the out of state club!
It's family run and we even got a little tour and got to crush some grapes! They have an awesome backyard for kids and also games and dress up! Awesome find!

We saw the huge patio and assumed that they were dog friendly. They weren't. We have been to lots of wineries with patios and this was the first non dog friendly patio we have found. The guy at the counter was snooty. We took our dogs and money elsewhere. Found multiple wine tasting rooms who welcomed the dogs inside. Serious fun? I think not.

I went here for my first yelp event and wine tasting experience! The owner Steve was super friendly and this place had good vibes all Around. I don't really drink wine, but the wine here was amazing. Not only do they have outdoor games like jenga and darts, the also have a cute little garden that you can walk through with giant sunflowers. I would definitely recommend coming here if you are ever in the "wine ghettos" of Lompoc.
There's also a really cool money wall from different parts of the world. It was such a cool thing to see!

Montemar Wines is the first winery I've visited in Lompoc's Wine Ghetto- and it was great! The space had a good combination of indoor/outdoor seating with a very open flow. Outside, you could spend your time playing a number of games, such as jenga, corn hole, darts, and MY PERSONAL FAVORITE hoolahoop (my inner child came out and I loved this activity probably more than I should have). The space also has a really cute garden area that you can stroll around in.
The wines were great and the staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. My friends and I even got to meet the owner, who was

My friend and I stopped by here on a Monday afternoon and had a great time! They have a great selection of wines that they offer and two tasting lists to choose from. We did one of each, so we could try everything. The girls pouring were super friendly and could take about each wine and where it came from, which we really enjoyed. They have this cool chalkboard with an artistic map of the area explaining how the climate is so unique to the area. The owner came by and explained it which was really cool.
We really enjoyed the wines. The price point was pretty good for the wines and we were even

You must come try their top-quality, delicious selection of wines. Great spot tucked away in an industrial area in Lompoc, with an indoor tasting room and an outdoor area with games and a "community-friendly" garden.
Came here for a Yelp event and my wife and I will be back for sure!
They have lots of wines and they use only the best, local ingredients so swing by and try it :). My wife loved the Syrah, Bentrock Pinot, and the Rosé. Can't go wrong here!

These guys are an exceptional winery in an unassuming location. Not pretentious, just good and knowledgeable staff pouring delicious wines. I’m a full-bodied red wine lover and Montemar’s selection of crafted Pinots fits the bill! I will return whenever I come back to the area for work! Definitely worth the stop!

Great wine, cool backyard with oversized furniture and a little beach! Their tasting room is in the wine "ghetto" - an industrial area where a bunch of different wineries have set up shop. Fun place to spend an afternoon- we joined the wedding party here - comfortable for larger groups and very friendly staff!

We met the wine maker Steve! Not only was he super knowledgeable and friendly but he showed us around the winery, took us in the back, shared tastings and stories! What a fun experience! Daniel was super great at showing where wines were in the map and was intentional with making sure we enjoyed our tastings!
Also just the wines themselves are so well balanced, consistent in taste and mouth feel.. I absolutely love this winery. It's a hidden gem!

This was the best experience we had of all the tasting rooms that we visited in the Wine ghetto, and it was the very first tasting room that we walked into.
I think Michelle (Server) made this a 5-star experience for us. When we saw that the tasting flight being offered was white wines with Pinots, we almost turned around and walked out, but then she told us that she could customize our flight for $20.
She poured some Syrahs (my favorite) and a few other ones, including a Cab for my husband. We really enjoyed learning about the winery from Michelle, and how the logo came about!
