Glasco Karate is an officially recognized branch (shibu) dojo of the Okinawan Goju-Ryu Kenkyukai (research society) under the tutelage of Sensei Masaji Taira. We are one of only a few dojos in the United States to hold this title, and it is a great honor. The Kenkyukai has branch dojos all over the world.
Our students have the opportunity to travel and learn Goju-Ryu from some of the finest instructors on the planet. Students are welcome to attend as few or as many classes as their schedule permits. We require no contracts, but offer discounts for students who are ready to make a longer-term commitment.

Services
Our karate curriculum is suitable for all ages 5 and up, building strength, technique and confidence. We have an excellent children's program, but we are not a "karate-based day care". We teach real techniques for real life based on kata (forms), bunkai (analysis of the forms, performed with two people) and kiso kumite (fighting drills and counter attacks) in a safe environment.
All students progress at their own pace, we do not test on a set schedule. It can take anywhere from 3 years to several years to achieve the rank of junior black belt. Our children's classes are fun, challenging, and the skills and discipline the students learn help them in other areas of their lives.

If I could I would’ve gave me zero stars. I had my daughter in there for not even three months and the instructor came out to my fiancé and rudely told her that she was not ready because she had dragged her all over the floor trying to position her In unnatural way. Mind you my daughter is only four years old and she is a sweetheart she looked very uncomfortable from what my fiancé told me thank God I was not there if I was there I would’ve went to jail that day. This was Child abuse including all the yelling that she does to the children during the class, none if Parents that are attending

I have studied multiple disciplines at many schools. Glasco Karate is at the peak. Belts are earned, not given. Everything done has a purpose and is the real deal. Every form has a defensive counter part to be attacked. Technique is sharp and the teachers are the perfect instructors. This school has a great child and adult program. I would have no doubt on bringing my kids here. Sometimes is awkward being an elder or nontraditional student but the adult classes are filled. Glasco Karate is training that will last lifetimes.
