Callaway Vineyard & Winery
Founded in 1974, Callaway was the first winery to open it's doors in the Temecula Valley. Approachable, flavorful and extremely well-balanced wines are synonymous with the Callaway name. We invite you taste our wines at our Temecula Winery. This adventure package includes a scenic helicopter tour from San Diego to Callaway Winery where you can choose to enjoy wine tasting, a behind-the-scenes winery tour and lunch at Meritage.

Then experience a different scenic tour on your return flight. Making wine is what we're really all about, and we take our jobs seriously. Whether you're into intense big red wines, dessert in a glass or something in between, Callaway has a wine that's sure to please. We rely on our winemaking team to do all of the really hard winemaker stuff, and rely on you for the really fun part; opening and enjoying a bottle of Callaway wine!
Services
His father worked for the family firm which owned eight textile mills in the town. Young Ely's success in business began at the early age of ten, when he used money he had earned from delivering magazines to lease an acre of land on which he planted peach trees. He made more than $700 from his first crop.
At one of the most relaxing, tranquil and truly unique Temecula winery restaurants, guests can enjoy a seasonal array of fresh, farm-to-table meals, made from scratch. Many of the ingredients used by the restaurant come from our greenhouse and garden when available, otherwise we source, and support, seasonal, sustainable food from local farmers.
As a Callaway wine club member, you'll enjoy a number of great benefits and perks in addition to specially selected shipments of our wine. Our Legacy wine club provides members with many benefits, including the opportunity to purchase newly released and limited production wine at substantial discounts.
At this time, Callaway Vineyard & Winery is only considering donation requests within Riverside, San Diego and Orange Counties that benefit breast cancer charitable organizations. If you are in need of door prizes or silent auction items, we would be happy to offer you 30% off the purchase of any wine or merchandise for this purpose.
We offer a variety of fun ways for our guests to enjoy a unique Temecula wine tasting experience. We invite you to come see for yourself! There's plenty of room and we can't wait to serve you! Following the tour guests are encouraged to visit our tasting room to experience our extensive menu of award winning wines.

Chose this place based on the 4.5 rating. As we approach the place and the beautiful setting we noticed the outdoor furniture really needs to be updated and cleaned.  We walked in and the hostess was very nice and professional.  Seconds after sitting down the server showed up and asked if we were ready to order.  We asked him to come back. We ordered a bottle of rosé and being a winery I'd expect a lot more wine etiquette.  The whole bottle was poured into our glasses without the person who ordered it being there. The food took a bit too long, it was good but one of the dishes was so spicy

Came here to celebrate our son's 25th birthday and we enjoyed everything!
Food and wine at Meritage were all fantastic!
It was a Monday so it wasn't busy. It was nice to walk around. Lots of room to just sit down and enjoy the views while sipping wine. Our choice was Ambrosia ❤ it was fruity and aromatic
For our lunch selections we devoured (appetizers) roasted pork belly cubes & crab cakes; (entrees) mahi mahi tacos, roasted Scottish salmon, jumbo shrimp & chorizo pasta & roasted Jidori chicken, these are all mouthwatering!
Servers wore masks so it's a plus. Jamie was wonderful and friendly

This first winery I've ever been to ever, and let me just say... this was okay. This place is extremely popular. When I first stepped in it was like a wine bar. I wish I had gone on a wine tour because I am genuinely interested in wine and want to learn more about it. I went here fairly dressed up which was a bummer when you're surrounded by folks in shorts and T-Shirts (it was a Saturday, I don't blame them). So if you intended on hitting up a bunch of other wineries afterwards, this is a good jumping off point. The prices are too bad either, whether it's for a glass or bottle. I would come back

We took the walk through tour and wine tasting. The tour was interesting and informative and not too much walking. We enjoyed the selections for the wine tasting. You get up to six choices each person. The staff were friendly and polite. It was a real nice experience. It's an affordable way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Super vibrant friendly fast-paced winery. There was like, 5 servers for the main bar area, churning out drinks, friendly and quick as hell. The outdoor seating was plentiful and picturesque. The ambiance was chill outside and exciting party inside.

This came highly recommended by many of our friends. The grounds are a tad sprawling with many places to sit without any true direction upon entry, it kind of felt like a museum front and not a winery. I would recommend the tasting room because you have more interaction with the wine experts and you have nice views and shade. We came around 2:30pm and waited for 45 minutes for 2 people on a Saturday. It is first come, first served. You can drink a glass of wine while you wait or people watch. Anyway, Josh was our server and we will definitely come back to visit him. He tried to recommend wines

We came for lunch at the Meritage and a wine tasting. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable and we had a great time. The wine lines were a bit convoluted, you had to wait in the gift shop line to buy any bottles which was also the place people were checking in for tastings or purchasing gifts. So to have the wine purchases at a different spot would be helpful. But the tastings were great and the open air space was beautiful. They also have an indoor tasting area if the weather isn’t great, but we were able to enjoy the spacious outdoor patio.

Theodore and the main female manager(blonde) were so courteous and made my birthday visit so enjoyable! All the wines I tasted were delicious. It's a gorgeous vineyard and winery. It was perfect!
