WINES & VINES Our Estate Vineyard produces eight select grape varietals. Our vines are located on a gently sloped hillside above the winery. GUEST HOUSE Stay at the historic Clark Ranch while you enjoy your Highway 94 wine tasting experience. TASTING ROOM The Dulzura Vineyard and Winery tasting room is open weekends year-round.

The Dulzura Vineyard & Winery is located on the pioneer-era Clark Ranch, established in 1885. Today the ranch is still family owned. The buildings are among the very few surviving structures from that era. Come visit and share a glass of fine wine while enjoying the historical ambience and beauty of the Clark Ranch.
Services
Dulzura Vineyard & Winery makes wines in very limited case quantities and are not available in stores. You may purchase these fine wines directly from us through our tasting room or by contacting us directly by email or phone. We can arrange to ship your selection directly to you where it is legal to do so.
Available in our tasting room is a sampling of select wines all made from fruit sourced in Dulzura. The tasting fee is $10 per person for a flight of 5 wines of your choosing. Guests are welcome to share tastes for the same price and are welcome to sample our Kajkab artisanal chocolate along with the select wines.
The Clark Ranch was established in 1885 by Frank J. Clark and his wife Lila. Frank found in Dulzura a climate that suited his predisposition to asthma and severe allergies that had plagued him while growing up in Nebraska. He and Lila decided to settle here, building their first home on the north side of the Dulzura Creek along the Campo Stage Route, as Highway 94 was known then.
Established in 1885 and family owned since, the ranch is a glimpse back into another era, and is now the home of the Dulzura Vineyard and Winery. We've opened up the apartment above our tasting room for those who wish to spend some quality time in the country in a beautiful setting.

The Guest House is the upper floor of the 'Pickle House, ' constructed in 1906 as a kitchen to make a sweet dessert confection then known as 'Clark's Pickleized Figs'.You'll be staying in what was originally a large room which housed the spices and ingredients which were gravity fed to the production kitchen below, now the winery tasting room.
It cools off a lot here at night, 30 degrees on average. That's why we can make good whites, says Sarah Babine, who, along with husband Grant Spotts, aims to put an obscure corner of San Diego County on wine enthusiasts' radar. She opines that the common wisdom 'round these parts - that it's just too hot to grow white varietals - is flat wrong, and after tasting the bottlings of Dulzura Vineyard and Winery, I'm inclined to agree with her.

Great little winery in our local country side of southern California. Wines are really good and love the dessert wine. Wife and I had great time and only 25 minutes from Imperial Beach. Drive out by otay lakes if you want some great scenery for an extra 20 minutes. Support our local wineries.

Our day at Dulzura Winery was a perfect day. We hiked the trails behind the winery, then had a wine tasting followed by a lovely afternoon sipping wine on the patio. While the company (some of my best friends) enhanced the day, Grant and his wife helped us to feel at home. Dulzura vineyard also offered some of the best wine I’ve had in San Diego. I will definitely come back again.

We stayed one night in the guesthouse. It was very comfortable and well appointed, everything we hoped for, including a large kitchen, comfy bed and veranda. The vineyard and surrounding countryside is beautiful and peaceful. The major attraction of course was the wine itself, which is outstanding. Grant and Sarah were generous in their time and knowledge, sharing their passion for their wine with us.

Stayed at the guesthouse with my husband and stepdaughter. Place was advertised as appropriate for 3 people and a cleaning fee was charged. Upon arrival we were told that the cleaning fee would be raised from $20 to $200 because we had a child with us. Dishwasher overflowed and we needed to mop the entire kitchen. Despite the cleaning fee we were expected to do all the dishes (loading the dishwasher was not sufficient), clean the floor, and take out the trash. If you book here, watch out for large hidden fees and dishonest hosts who will offer extra linens as courtesy and then charge for them.

They were very accommodating and let us come visit for a tasting outside of their posted hours. The wine was as excellent as the hosts were welcoming. I would recommend a tasting here to anyone who likes wine!

Pleasently surprised by the quality of their white wines. Perhaps the best white wines that I've had in southern California and viogniers compare favorably w/ anywhere in CA.

Great small winery and a perfect place to stop on your way out of the hills when you're hot and thirsty. Or just thirsty. Or feel like you might get thirsty. Really friendly people, friendly dogs, a lot of history in the place {ask them!} and the wines are all very good though the cab franc is our favorite. And you can take a walk up behind the tasting room to the vineyard where they have a small deck on top of a water tank with a great view, so bring a little picnic, buy some wine, and take your sweetie up there. I can't believe this place only has one review, so I had to throw in another. Oh
