Bought a delicious (8"?) lemon tart for a friends engagement which looked very festive! Had gold foil in the center! Also got slices of a passion fruit dulce de leche torte and a chocolate raspberry torte. The passion fruit one was a big hit. Definitely a hidden gem of a place -- was searching on Yelp for a place where I could buy a celebratory whole dessert / cake and I'm so glad I decided to look in here in person because would have missed that it fit what I was looking for perfectly!

I found Dulceria among a list of 30 outstanding coffee shops in NYC. From Battery Park City, where I live, I took the trip to Harlem. Yes, the latte was delicious, the sweets were too, and the goat cheese empanada was huge and tasty. But above all, the staff, including the gentleman who is a co-owner, were very hospitable, making sure that I got what I wanted. Indeed, I did! Such a positive experience!

The cakes look too fancy to actually be good, but they are great. Passion fruit and dulce de leche both highly recommended. (Chocolate desserts, usually my favorite, might be the weak spot at Dulceria.)
And addendum on challah: it is good but vexingly hard to get. It seems to appear on Friday afternoons, exact time hard to pin down, and in limited quantities.

I had a lovely visit yesterday to Dulceria and brought home all kinds of goodies for me and my daughters. Daniel is so lovely to talk to and will happily describe everything on the menu. My current obsession is definitely the Milhojas Passion Fruit - wow, one of the best desserts I have ever tasted! And the marraquetas remind me of Chile. Go to Dulceria!! See you there!

This place really lives up to its name, dulceria means sweetness in Spanish. I've walked by this place a few times but it was always after closing time. Today I got the chance to finally try it. It's a small place and due to the Covid restrictions only a couple of people are allowed to enter, I waited a bit on line and then a very friendly staff member came out to ask for my order in order to speed up the process. I ordered a few of the breads to try out, my favorite was the Brazilian pan de queso since it has a nice subtle cheese taste. I also ordered the dulce de leche with merengue

I popped in nearly a year ago, whenever it was that they just opened, but I just ogled then. The space is beautiful. The glass cases are crystal clear, giving a nearly unfiltered view to the creamy colorful delectables inside. And there are always fresh baked goodies in glass containers sitting atop the counters. I bumped into a neighbor while there recently, who said he has been going there almost daily to buy fresh bread since the pandemic. Eventually, he said, he's pretty much been buying all of his groceries there since he learned they even sell olive oil!
This last time I made a bit

Wow I am so lucky to have spotted Dulceria out of the corner of my eye this evening!
So many beautiful decadent new desserts to try! If youve been watching and drooling over the Chilean food features on netflix, I highly recommend you get your fix at dulceria!
Wonderful customer service as well, they were so helpful, patient and informative. They answered my many questions and offered suggestions based on my preferences (really so many new ones to choose from) !

Dulceria is my favorite spot for a sweet treat in Harlem. I'm an ice cream gal through and through, but for these pastries I would trade a scoop of my favorite Sugar Hills Creamery flavor in a heartbeat. Pretty much everything I have tried at Dulceria is extraordinary. The guys are Chilean, super friendly, and happy to walk you through the many options in the dessert case. Come once and you'll be hooked. You'll start picking up a pastry or five to bring to a dinner party. You'll start detouring up here from Central Park. You'll bring a date, and eat your treats on a bench

Very new place in South Harlem. Because of the soft opening, the business hours are pending, as variety of pastries as well.
The place is very small, hardly squeeze with two humans on a row, but incredibly cozy and fantastically friendly staff.
The pastries is mostly chilean, but you might find some latinamerican inspiration. Very fresh, very tasty, very good. Absolutely new point on the Harlem map, sort of Jewel in the Crown of Harlem Bakeries. Well done.
