We have been renting on both Sunset Beach and Ocean Isle for more than 30 years. 245 East 1st Street Ocean isle was the filthiest and the move poorly maintained house we have ever rented. Sloane Vacations was… not responsive to the situation. I called immediately and the phones were shut off. I emailed immediately and got a response after we left. There was mold in every bathroom, years worth of on dust everything, holes in the walls, a broken refrigerator drawer, garbage left behind, broken closet door, air filters that had not be changed in a long time, and very disorganized in the set

Extremely disappointed after our stay last week when we have been in the exact same house for years, 166 East First Street Ocean Isle Beach.. the amount of mold discovered before the ceiling falling was… enough.. but when I was sitting in the exact spot just minutes before with my 2 year old and the sheet rock falls and exposes even more mold.
If you expect people to pay good money to stay in your beach house.. the LEAST you can do is make sure it is safe!!!

I have rented houses at Ocean Isle Beach for several years and this was the first time using Sloane Vacations and will never use them again, nor recommend to anyone. Absolutely, completely unresponsive to issues that should be addressed. Rented a house the week of July 4th and asked for a broken toilet seat to be replaced, to have a bathroom door… fixed that would not latch shut, and wanted the porch lights to work. 3 very reasonable requests. Called the office more than once and was told a work order was placed and would be taken care of, but nothing was attempted to be done. Sent an email

The way Sloane Vacations handled our complaint about roaches will make me think twice before renting one of their units again. The unit we rented was at Oceanside West II unit D3. we went to the office to… report the presence of roaches - specifically waking up with roaches in the master bed. The guest service rep said to me "The good news is - they are palmetto bugs". There's something good about sleeping with roaches? Because that's what they are! By Tuesday night we were sleeping in beach lounge chairs in the living room! I had called to see when the condo HOA would have an exterminator

Stayed at one of Sloane's properties on Sunset Beach recently. The property was in a state of disrepair and clearly hadn't been properly cleaned or maintained for years. There was trash behind and under furniture, food crumbs all over beds. The carpets were filthy and showers covered in mold and mildew. Discovered water leaking from shower upstairs into kitchen light during our stay. Broken fridge and dishwasher parts. Missing screening on porch and deck was in state of disrepair including missing tread on stairwell. Broken door handle at entrance so getting into the house was

From check in we experienced… -There were old, moldy coffee grounds and filter left in the coffee maker. -The tables were covered in a sticky syrup substance. -There were only 2 pillows on the large king bed and the spare pillows were laying in a closet directly on top of a plunger. There were also no pillow cases for the spare pillows, not that… we would have used them since they were touching a toilet plunger. -There is filth underneath the bed. -After 4 days in the freezer, our freeze pops have still not frozen and the fridge is cool at best even though it’s turned to its

They are terrible!!!!!! We have stayed in “a place at the beach 1” for years but never used Sloane. Condo was nasty. Sliding door broken and does not work which is not ok with 3 smalls ones. Dirty linens left for 3 days. I have complained and they ignore me. Condo has a terrible smell. Never again. Do not rent 2H!!!!!! Do not use Sloane!!!! Use McClure they have been amazing to use in the past. Marking this condo off the list for us!!! It just feels gross!

Rented an ocean front home for a week in May. Cannot express the level of disappointment I have with everything related to our rental experience. The home was absolutely filthy. We spent our first full day of vacation cleaning, (alongside the Sunday morning visit from the man Sloane did send to clean the very stained upholstery in the living room.) Other than that, no one came to clean the areas we complained about and I never had a conversation again with Ayme in the office about my concerns or complaints. We stayed at 252E1 - Luxury Oceanfront House which is an absolutely gorgeous oceanfront beach home in Ocean Isle. Close to a few nice grocery stores and an ABC store also! We arrived on Thursday and there was a… public access dock being built to the left of the home. On Thursday and Friday all we heard were non stop nails being driven in with electric nail guns, and a large generator supplying the power for the construction workers. On Saturday and Sunday however we were able to have things quiet and peaceful! The home is decorated beautifully and the kitchen is a dream to cook in. The ocean

For nearly 40 years my family has been coming to Sunset Beach, NC and using SB Vacations and SB Properties for our rentals. This is our first (and last) time using Sloane (Summerwind @ 1105 E Main St through Sloane Realty). Although the staff is extremely pleasant, the company standards on what are livable conditions are beyond extremely low. We were welcomed by standing water, leaks and mold in the kitchen cupboards and the bathrooms. Also mold on ceiling vents above the beds. My mother-in-law was greeted by an electrical spray from a ceiling light not properly repaired. Loose steps in the house

Awful customer service. The ladies in there acted like they had somewhere better to be and like they were all better than the clients they were supposed to be helping. They were inhospitable and rude. Incredibly unimpressed with how they handled themselves when checking in to the place we rented and we will plan accordingly next year in booking somewhere else with someone else.

We recently stayed in the Colony II building that Sloane Realty owns. Overall, we really enjoyed our family vacation to Sunset Beach!
Pros:
This location is a simple 5 minute drive to the beach where there is convenient parking. It's also a convenient drive to Calabash (check out the Calabash Creamery!), a Food Lion, ABC store and just about anything you might need during your stay. Sunset Beach could really use a Target however...
There is an outdoor pool, indoor pool/hot tub and exercise center that is reserved for renters.
The grounds are clean and well maintained. There is also a grill
