The Meriden YMCA is dedicated to building healthy, confident, connected and secure children, adults, families and communities. Every day our impact is felt when an individual makes a a healthy choice, when a child gains confidence though learning something new from their teacher or coach, and when neighbors come together for the common good.
Services
The Meriden YMCA offers a variety of programs for tots through teens. We build Strong Kids not only through helping them get fit and healthy, but also by building character, teaching good sportsmanship, and instilling the four key characteristics of the Y: honesty, caring, responsibility, and respect.
The Meriden YMCA offers lots of great ways to get you fit and healthy. Come work out in our Fitness Center guided by our helpful staff, take one of our classes from our certified instructors, or compete in our sports leagues, then recharge your muscles with a relaxing massage. We have something for everyone no matter what your fitness level is.
Enjoy some family time together at the Y's free family events and open swim time, play basketball or racquetball together, and relax at our Mountain Mist Outdoor Center in the summer. Another great way to have fun with your children is to take a class together like parent and tot gymnastics, gym and swim, parent and tot karate, or try ZUMBATOMIC.
At the YMCA, we create brighter futures as the largest provider in Meriden of quality child care programs for infants through middle school age students. Please ask about our Infants & Toddlers, Head Start, Preschool, School Readiness, Before and After School, School Vacation Fun Club, and Summer Camp programs.
The Meriden YMCA Before and After School Program serves the community by providing proven, safe, quality childcare for all children ages five and over enrolled in the Meriden Public Schools. The program creates a comfortable, secure environment that allows each child to develop his/her sense of self-esteem, sense of belonging, and a sense of accomplishment.

I wish I could give zero stars because the meriden ymca doesn't even deserve 1. My daughters godson started flag football there this year and it was a total joke. This is supposed to be an instructional league however the kids weren't taught anything...other than that you only get playing time if you're the coaches children. The coaches kids are never on the sidelines. One of the coaches has a serious problem keeping his hands to himself, as he continuously grabs the kids by their shirts and drags them around the field to put them in their positions. Not to mention the way the coaches yell at them

Some of the sports have good coaches. But in karate class they hit the kids with bats to teach them to block. My 7year old came home with bruises from the sensei hitting his legs so hard and he's only been there a couple weeks. Another child was crying during the class. I do not recommend karate here.

I remember going back in 2005 and having our Family Reunion was the best choice we made being that we have a large family so it gave us the space and all the other things that help keep everyone happy with going to celebrate the totigethness we wanted to share with each other young n old alike thank you for opening up your place with others to enjoy the beauty of the land. Smile (member of the Boykin family) my son was only a baby back then now he is a teenager and i'm sure he will enjoy it to now. Smile

I would give no stars if possible. The infant room had fewer issues (people brought their sick babies even with hand foot and mouth, so be aware your infant will always be sick, but the teacher in that class means well). The day my child was moved to the 1 year old room at 8 months was when the hell broke loose. I'd pick up my daughter with bruises that came with no explanation, constant confusion about what she could and could not consume, despite constant discussion and poor communication between staff. She was always in the 2 year old room when I'd pick her up, I'd have other

I love this YMCA. There are a few parking spots in front of the building and a huge parking lot across the street. Don't forget to have your parking validated when you get inside.
There is free child care for members so that your young children/babies have their own place to be during your visit. The child care employees are really sweet to the children and my daughter enjoys going to the child care room on days that she doesn't have her own classes. There is a computer area and an active video game room for the older kids as well.
The adult gym is wonderful. There are treadmills, weight

A solid full-size gym. The Hampton Inn on Bee Street includes access in its room rate. The equipment is less varied and lower in quantity than at a commercial gym, like a Crunch or a 24 Hour Fitness.
TIP - locker room very sufficient for getting dressed for work
TIP - ample parking prior to 9 AM on the street in front of the gym
TIP - pool available

The place where the entire family can spend time together and the staff is the best!!!. I have been going for a few years. I have Bekki as my personal trainer and she will get you into shape, but will work with you if you have certain limitation. You need to try the Biggest Winners.........I love the Meriden YMCA
