Staff member Mark is very rude & threatening, acting like a body guard to get people out the basketball court. filed a complaint at the front desk with a promise to be reached out to which never happened. If you want a basketball court pay a bit more and go to LA fitness with a better gym court and friendly staff.

Rip off place. Over charged me. Had to call three time and email twice, to get a refund. Once they mailed it out in check, it was only partial refund. Don't waste your money on this place.

They will try to bill you even when you place holds or cancel. They also allow children into adult dressing rooms so people's kids watch you while you're changing, I've complained twice. They also used to be 24/7 and now their hours are super inconvenient they close so early. I will never go back. I moved to another gym and am much happier. Stay FAR AWAY from this place.

I called 8 times they pick up the call and just to put it on hold doesn't come back I have a question for the day care department. You guys are disrespectful and rude and unprofessional and ghetto. Get it together if you are gonna work at professional business like ymca then act like. Ymca management need to train the people they hire better.

Rip off. Highly unethical business practice when I ended my membership, was told no further charges would be applied. It was not true. Now after two calls and two weeks of requesting refund no response.

Context. I've been a member of the Y for like 10 years on my own pass. I use to live behind them before they tore down the building we lived in. I've pretty much been a member all my life, going since I was small. But now with how they're running their "reservations" and I can't come 10 minutes early but they "allow" you to be 15 minutes late. I wouldn't complain normally about anything. But i don't make set times to work out, I go when I go. I've had items stolen from there. Never complained. I know Mark and he also knows my family. So I'd never complain about the Ymca but now I am and I'm canceling

I cancelled my membership last week. A payment was drafted out over the weekend. I stopped in and spoke to Cindy. She told me I would receive a phone call from Desiree and she would have to reverse the charge. After waiting for 3 days for a response I contacted the YMCA today. I spoke to Yessennia who told me Desiree was on a conference call and would be reaching out to me. I called back and spoke to Desiree. She tried to rush me off the phone saying she had more important responsibilities to tend to then dealing with me. I signed up for a membership at the New Britain YMCA however I frequent the

I usually go to the Y in Plainville but decided to go here just for a day . I personally didn’t like the setup at this particular gym. It’s much smaller than the one I go to, however I thought it was decent enough to workout and workout area was clean and neat.
The main problem I had here is the child care program they have there to watch children while parents workout.
It’s from 5:30pm-8pm only. Not very flexible, also the area in which they keep the kids are not suitable at all. It’s very small and it was way too many kids in there at once. Not to mention not enough things to do or

I’ve been a member for like 8 years now. Staff is overall friendly and vigilant. Don’t leave things in the locker room without a lock because it will get stolen. I love that it’s 24/7. The exercise classes are the best! And there are so many offered at different times compared to other YMCAs, only bad thing is that one instructor teaches a lot of the classes and I just get bored with the same instructor I won’t name her because she’s nice but she should change it up. The pool is nice, but I wish they had a sauna room, that would be awesome. Overall I’m happy because it’s close to

Lots of things wrong with this place. To start, it takes a long time for things to get done there. Of the few machines they have in the weight room, if one gets broken, then it stays like that for weeks even months. Next is the lack of organization that seems to plague this place. I know many people that cancel their memberships here and still get billed. There is also no effort to get kids that fool around in the weight room out of there. They get in the way and play around with the weights and machines, getting in the way of people that actually want to workout. The biggest I realized recently

They are making a LOT of great improvements at this Y. The prices are really reasonable for kids sports programs. The private swim lessons are awesome - they work with you on scheduling times. They also have a good mix of group classes and gym equipment - seeing all the changes motivates me to take more advantage of our membership. The front desk staff is helpful and it is really easy to enroll in new programs. Another benefit is the childcare offered(FREE) for a few hours M-F evenings and Saturday mornings.

Husband had membership. Use of gym is ok but the pool hours are ridiculous for open swim from like 2 to 7 pm. He comes home from work after 6:30. So how are people with jobs supposed to be able to swim?? I think they cater to the older folks crowd with the constant water aerobics classes taking over and not allowing open swim. He has since switched to the ymca in plainville and its much better. Bigger pool as well.

We got a groupon for a family membership about a month ago and it was worth every penny. They have a large area with cardio machines, a full nautilus set, free weights, basketball court, pool, hot tub, classes (zumba, yoga, boot camp, aquasize, aqua zumba, etc), a rock climbing wall and more.

The ladies' locker room is big and clean and filled with lockers, sauna, swimsuit drying machine, a tv, changing area and showers. I've heard the men's locker room isn't quite as nice, but there is a men's health club available.

The staff is friendly and helpful and we've

Was looking for a comfortable place to swim in the NB area, and this place fits the bill. I go lots of different times and have always had my own lane; the staff is friendly and engaged. I'm not spending a lot of time on the cardio machines but was surprised to see modern machines with personal video screens, and do not seem to be overly crowded. I'm hoping to sneak in some racquetball at some point.

It's not the "hip, young, beautiful people" kind of place but the membership is reasonable compared to other local pools.
