Antonio and Gelasia Cao fell in love over 50 years ago while working at Cuba's most renowned bakery at the time, La Vencedora. The couple married and migrated to Miami as political exiles, and soon had enough money saved up to buy a small bakery in Hialeah. In 1972, Antonio and Gelasia opened Vicky Bakery.

Pedro Cao, along with several employees of his bakery dropped off the Cuban pastries to the Hialeah Fire Station #1, located at 93 East Fifth Street, on Thursday morning. We're here giving thanks to all the first responders from the Vicky family for all they do, leaving their houses every day to protect all of us.

Food is good but the service terrible. The girls have bad attitudes always. The business should structure the front staff.

Their bread is not that good compared to breads from other cuban bakeries, but the most discusting experience I had was yesterday. I was eating bread pudding and I found a very large egg shell inside. I understand anyone can miss a little piece but not a huge egg shell.

I keep coming back to this Vicky because it’s very close to my house but for months now very disappointed at the quality of the food. Today I paid $2.50 for an empanada that ended up being tiny and without any ham nor cheese inside . Super hard I’m sure it was from the previous day. But nothing inside ?!? Last couple times I ordered a croissant they “heat” it but when I get it it’s super cold on the inside. Also the croissants are not what they used to be, the bread is dry and flaky. Very disappointed.

When I first went they have a display for numbers and they don’t follow it. An employee Called Maria with glasses was very disrespectful with me and other costumers. Another costumer right next to me asked for his order and his coffee was cold, he complained and she did not offer any help. She had a very bad attitude and was very rude. This business is known to be good but the costumer service is really disappointing. They need to train their employees to deal with costumers

Fabulous place to order from!
I got coconut flan, rice pudding, eclairs, and one other type of dessert all was good.
They forgot one of my eclairs in my door dash delivery but they made up for it by bringing me one and an extra dessert of guava sticks that were delicious. What great hospitality!!!

I ordered steak sandwiches because someone told me they were good. And the steak was very tasty. But on the dry side. Bread was good and fresh,
but not toasted. Better than average and spac
e for improvement. I would make the steaks more juicy, not over cook them and put some garlic butter over the bread and toast them.

To start off, I was given food I did not order and charged for it. Then they forgot to give me the colada I ordered. The empanadas were stale and hardly had any meat. Finally, as I'm sitting eating in their restaurant they refuse to allow customers to use the restroom. How can an establishment not provide a restroom for customers that are dining in? I will definitely be filing a complaint with the city.

This place at one point had ok food. I went Thursday morning asked for a toast which literally came burnt. I asked for a couple croquetas which where as chewy as jerky. I asked for ham and cheese empanada was as dry as a soda cracker. I don’t know what happened to this bakery but this has become to worst representation of Cuban that I have ever been too. I really hope you guys fix this .

If you aren't Hispanic please don't come here! I placed an order over the phone. They have two lines. One for pick ups and the other one for orders. I stand in the pick up line and watch them IGNORE ME and help the customers who SPEAK SPANISH first. FINALLY after me getting an attitude someone helps me and catches an attitude because i asked for a loaf a Cuban bread to be added to my order!! NEVER AGAIN WILL I SUPPORT THIS VICKY. You want good service no matter how you look? Go to the one in Miramar! The food is better there anyway.

Absolutely a disgrace. No reason to wait 15 minutes for 1 breakfast sandwich and tostada. When I asked as orders after mine were done the server was rude. Stay at home or go to fast food. Incredibly rude and long wait. Also the tostada which is about the easiest thing to do was terrible. Just a disappointment all the way around.

They saved me! I went to the Vicky bakery near Nova, however they were out of the guava pastries. I wanted to bring them to Maryland for some friends that never had them. I grew up in Hialeah where the first Vicky bakery was built in 1972! So I then saw Cooper City had a location! I drove over and they had exactly what I needed and more! The ladies were super friendly and helpful! Turns out this Vicky bakery is owned by the original owners and not franchised. They have plenty of parking, all types of traditional Cuban pastries, cafe con Leche, cakes, etc. The owners daughter works in this location

Sunday morning is busy! Had a little line inside. Not too long of a wait though. The staff were pleasant. And what an assortment! They have everything from Pastelitos, empanadas, croquettes, sandwiches, desserts! I ordered a breakfast sandwich and a few pastries.

The breakfast sandwich could have been pressed a little more and needed a little bit more butter but was good. Guava pastelito was yummy!

I haven't tried the rest yet and I will update later.

Deliciousness left and right!!

Stopped by before leaving this hot land to take some goodies home with me.

They have a wide variety of options from sweet to savory. Their pan de bono (Colombian cheese bread) was delicious and so was the guava pastries.

I also got the strawberry cheese cake and oh man!! It was worth every bite to break one of my new year's resolutions

Fully recommended by locals and they definitely know where to get their sweets.

Dont bother. I was so excited... spent $30 worth of pastries. Eclairs, Napoleons, cappuccinos and cangrejitos (bite size soft sweet dough filled with meat). They were all hard, dry and stale. Called bakery was told sorry we gave very low foot traffic. :(

It is the first time I visit this bakery. I want to make a positive observation, in order for them to improve but with the best intention because I understand that they are a traditional family business here in Miami. Positive points, they offer many dessert options, this place is large, many customers arrive. They have an excellent point and I am sure they can improve. It would be excellent if they have other milk options to offer customers, in my case I consume almond milk or the regular but skim milk for my health. The sizes, I bought a medium one for my son and a large one for me, but it turned

This is the worst service I have ever received. I called 10 minutes before I got there but was put on hold, when I walked inside I got in line and told them as a courtesy they can hang up because I'm the one on the phone. They told me that's not their fault I just have to get in line which I was clearly already doing. There were only 2 people ahead of me. I order and am waiting for my food. 7-8 people have come and gone after me. Still no food but my coffee has had time to cool down so I'll have to reheat that when I get home now. I remind them I still haven't gotten my food

Relatively meh bakery.

I've been meaning to try a Vicky bakery and went to the one closest to my house. They seem to have a massive selection of pastries and cakes but I only tried one at the moment.

I got the guava cheese and it was pretty disappointing. There wasn't much of a cheese flavor and the guava wasn't the best. The pastry itself was ok, but just ok.

The place was pretty cute, not much seating to sit down and enjoy coffee or dessert.

Not writing this place off just yet, definitely need to try more and see how it goes !

I tried the vegan bread for the first time today and I have to say... it's tastier and lighter than the regular bread. My son is plant based therefore very particular with what he consumes and he enjoyed it as well.. please continue to add more vegan/plant base choices to your menu Vicky Bakery.

I go to Vicky's (Spanish bakery) for there pastries and coffee (cafe con lecha). But they have food and custome made cakes and desserts. I usually get meat pies, coconut, guava and cheese pies and a potato meat ball, it's a bread mashed potato with ground beef in the middle. If you have any suggestions on what I should try let me know.

Amazing bakery, mediocre coffee shop

Love coming here to
Pick up a box or tray of pastries. Great guava. Super leches, and a tremendous variety.

Coffee is terrific too.

But not a place to sit and enjoy the food they make.

No WiFi.

About 6 seats and tables that are cleaned intermittently when busy.

Setup could be more convenient. Cash register in a corner.

Still, if it's good food
To go, this is the place to come.

Classic! Nothing like a cafe con leche, tostada Cubano and a pastelito to start the day off right. I couldn't visit Miami and NOT go to Vichey. It's a Cuban staple and I'm here for every moment of it!

They constantly leave food out of my orders and charge me for it. I'm wondering if they do it on purpose because they are looking in the Box ringing it up and still charge though it's not in there. Prices have gone up and freshness is hit or miss.
