I shopped around Emmett for where I could get the best price for the procedure I needed for my dog; which was teeth cleaning...Not only did they have the best price, but the staff was wonderful...!!! I won't be taking my baby anywhere else...I highly recommend them for all of your veterinary needs...

I have been going to Gem Vet for 15 years and they have been great. But I have noticed since the passing of Dr. Howlett things have been slowly changing and it just not the same friendly atmosphere that it was in the past. I took my 14 year old dog Maggie in today for a nail trim and while I was waiting I asked the receptionist if I could pay. The nail trim has been $18,00 and I was totally surprised when she said it would be $25.00 . I asked her why such a high increase and she started in on me about the inflation and the government making more money. She said that she new what she was talking

The visit was very positive at first, but after a hour or so it wasn't as positive. The Vet looked at our dogs and administerd three shots and then we waited and spent another hour in the treatment room. We found out as we left there waa an emergency. I understand emergencies,but it would of been nice if they would have informed us. We checked in at 2:40 and we left at 4:30. Not a quick first visit.

I have been taking my animals to gem veterinary for many years. I was very disappointed at the rudeness of the newer receptionist.
I took my dogs in for their annual check up/vaccinations and they both had ear infections. I took them back a week later for a follow up, and I was charged $60 for a two minute office visit.
And again, the receptionist was snotty, unprofessional, and rude
I drive out to Emmett from star, fortunately for me there's a new veterinarian in star. I will never step foot at gem vet again

Dr Peterson was absolutely amazing! I didn't feel like they were out for money at all, and I love the way they gave me tons of advice and all kinds of options, what an amazing experience! I called 20 places this morning and they were the best price, I love in Star but it was WELL WORTH THE DRIVE! The doctor even drew me a diagram of the dogs bones and ligaments and what the problem was and explained it so thoroughly it was absolutely heartwarming to know that they truly care about my dog!
