Located at 9151 Ustick Road, on the southeast corner of Ustick Road and Dalton Lane, the property was purchased from the Dalton family by Dr. Alexis Higdon and her partner Kath'ren Bay. The building is a 1940's farmhouse that Dr. Higdon and Ms. Bay transformed into a cozy, comfortable, fully functioning feline veterinary hospital and hotel.
Our third exam room is dedicated to Marguerite Dalton, who lived in and cared for the home for 48 years, and believed in the vision that Dr. Higdon and Ms. Bay had for The Cat Doctor. We are grateful to Dr. Higdon and Kath'ren for making their vision of The Cat Doctor a reality that inspires us all.

Because we have a special affection for them, and understand that they require a peaceful and comfortable atmosphere, gentle handling techniques, and a hospital team trained in the subtle social and medical nuances that make a cat a cat. There are no frightening dog smells and sounds. The equipment, protocols, and facility are cat-designed for efficiency, safety and cost-effectiveness, providing a sense of security - for both of you.
Our highly trained medical team of veterinarians, veterinary technicians and assistants are focused on providing top quality medical care delivered with respect and compassion. Windows in our exam rooms, surgery suite and hospital treatment area provide natural light that promotes a comfortable, healing environment for your cat.
Two of these condos are larger, corner penthouse suites for cats that require a little more space. Meals are served in crystal and ceramic dishes and our fleece lined baskets are purrfect for an afternoon catnap! Privacy curtains are available for our quieter guests, and complimentary pedicures are always offered.
The decision to euthanize your beloved cat is a very personal, difficult choice that is often harder than dealing with the loss itself. You may experience feelings of indecision and/or guilt. You must trust that you will make the best, most loving decision for your cat. The euthanasia process itself is designed to be as quick and peaceful for you and your cat as possible.

My sweet Sage received the best care. He went in for not eating and runny stool, and had all 5 veterinarians take great care of him and they tried everything they could to locate the issue. They even put in a feeding tube for us to try to get some weight on him, and after 3 weeks of care, they helped us make the incredibly hard decision to end his suffering. They were amazingly supportive, kind, understanding, and loving. Everyone in the office fell in love with our kitten, and we finally discovered what was causing his illness, FIP. We saw Katie Johnson and she was fantastic! Our cat was completely at ease in her care. She was extremely welcoming and exuded kindness and enthusiasm for her profession and her cat patients. The general atmosphere in the building is calming and every member I encountered on the staff took their time in answering questions and keeping my cat totally chill and happy. Thank you!

The Cat Doctor is a wonderful vet! Dr Beil is very professional and is so kind to my cats. Her and the Techs are very professional when it comes to handling the cats. They do not put them in straight jackets when they are scared, instead they work to calm the cat and make them more comfortable. They are very knowledgeable on medicine and procedures and have always given sound advice on behavior and environment in cats.
I would highly recommend this vet for your kitties!
