Shipped my bike here in preparation for a tour to New Orleans. They let me know it needed more work than I was interesting in paying BUT the bike had more issues when I picked it up than when I dropped it off. They left a screw out of the derailleur which was there when I shipped the bike (photos to prove it) and they scratched the living hell out of the frame. 30 miles into my ride I had to take it to another shop in Franklin to have the work they should have done repaired. Also they charged me $137 for what the shop in Franklin charged me $60 for. Finally, Michael is one of the rudest people

My son has been riding his bike 2 miles to middle school and was run off street and hit curb and his wheel was bent. I called Andrew that afternoon and he told me to bring it in. I brought in within 30 minutes and he had the wheeled trued to normal within 15 minutes. Thank you for being responsive and seeing how important that bike is to my son! I appreciate the fast response and great customer support! Also, have some very cool bikes, bike accessories and electric bikes. Thanks again!

Fantastic experience at Halcyon. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly, and actually took the time to listen to exactly what I was looking for out of a new bike. They recommended the perfect model and even made some adjustments to the handlebar set up to make it more comfortable since I am a taller guy. Couldn’t be happier with the bike. I’ll definitely be coming back in the future for any other cycling needs

Great guys! Knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. We drove from Decatur, AL for a specific brand and model of bike. When we called, they checked to make sure they had what we wanted and even that it was already assembled before we got there. Also loved the sign in the window đź’ś will definitely be back in the future!

I can't tell if this will be a new yelp review or update my old one, so in 2011 I rated 3 stars for them making a good effort but having some issues.
In the past couple weeks, I've taken 2 bikes to them. The first one was a 30 year old bike that was very expensive new, but is just getting by now. Not only are they so hard to get a hold of from having random short operating hours, but the customer service is exhausting. A lot of back and forth and me having to repeatedly opt out of the "upsells" as I see them. I know the mechanic is just trying to make sure he does the job well

After much research, I took the 4 hour drive to this shop looking for a bicycle for me. Nicholas and Andrew were awesome. We slowly worked through the process of putting together a bicycle for me.
I had a lot of questions which they answered. 4 hours later, I had my bicycle along with the accessories. I am ecstatic.
A word of advice. This is NOT your typical store in the USA. These people are craftsmen and bicycle enthusiasts. Don't expect to walk out of there with an awesome bike in an hour. What they do takes time, thought, and research. Trying to rush these folks is a huge mistake.

Halcyon Bike Shop has been a fixture on 12th avenue and reliable source for affordable new and old bikes and excellent bicycling servicing. The service staff is knowledgeable and honest. Recently, I had a problem with my derailleur system, induced by a futile attempt to tune up my bike. The service team not only corrected my screw-up but left me with a much better riding machine. The costs for having two mechanics look at the bicycle, a team tag approach, was reasonable and fair. I have used this shop for many years and have had a similar experience. Support local and especially this shop.

This is the best bike shop in Nashville. They just spent the last few weeks rebuilding my SC Blur from scratch... They worked with Cane Creek and had a shock hand built in Asheville and gave my old girl the makeover of her life. They were even able to replace a 26" QR fork in this day and age. There is not another bike shop in the city that I could have trusted to do this rebuild. They're knowledgeable, accessable, easy to work with, completely affordable and their work speaks for itself.

So I buy a used ebike from this place, got a good deal. I had no problem with the folks there at all. The issue was after I got home, rode it off and on for a month or so and the battery was dead. Removed and realized it needed a special cable to charge and they had not given it to me. Again, not a big deal, just send me the charger. I called and they said they would find it and call me back. Four days later I called and asked what happened. They said the remebered giving it to me. Well they didnt. Unless I ate it which highly unlikely due difficulty in digesting it, they have it somewhere and

My Trek road bike is over 25 years old, and the derailleurs needed replaced after I had to ditch the bike quickly in a storm a few months ago. The good people at Halcyon ordered the parts and fixed it right on schedule and I just took a test ride at home. My bike has "never" ridden this smoothly the entire time I've owned it. So excited to get back on after 3 months of downtime! Thanks Halcyon!

Employees are so nice, good at explaining things, and working within your budget. They're passionate about commuting, MTB, gravel, cargo, and e-bikes, and they have really beautifully restored vintage and used bikes, too. I bought two Surly bikes at Halcyon, and I've rented MTB and e-bikes from them. Strongly recommended!

We rented an e-bike from Halcyon Bike Shop for 3 days and it was great! First time on an e-bike...hills were fun, and keeping up with my daughter was easy, even though I'm 65 and don’t bike a lot. Stephanie and Kevin offered accessories (helmet lock waterbottle) at no extra charge. Prices were same or cheaper than the 3 nearby competitors we called, and everyone was so nice!!!!

My fiance was looking to buy a new bike. He didn't want to get a super cheap bike that would break down or not feel right but he also did not want an expensive bike that would be stolen the day after he bought it.
We went to REI but they did not have any "middle of the road" bikes. He found Halcyon on Yelp and we decided it could not hurt to try it out.
The store is on a busy street but there is a very small private parking lot. There were both used and new bikes. We had the nicest woman help us out--she answered all of our questions and let us take the bike out for a test

After the initial dilemma, I will say that Halcyon made right on their customer service. I spoke with Andrew about when I had planned to get my bike, explained my delay in picking it up and he was definitely congenial and understanding. He explained that often, patrons drop off their bikes, get extensive work done and never come pick up the finished product--leaving the small shop responsible for lots of lost dollars. Knowing this, I understood the initial defensive tone of our earlier conversation.
They do good work, and I will return in the future for upkeep. Thank you, Halcyon

Walked in to look at bikes and was greeted behind a guy at the counter initially but after several minutes of looking and touching and holding all of the bikes I was interested in I still received no service. I walked over to the counter to start asking questions but the employee behind the counter could not be bothered to look up or acknowledge my presence.
I would rather support small independent bike shops but if your not going to acknowledge customers as they are looking don't expect too many sales

Halcyon provided me with one of the best shopping/buying experiences I have ever had. I first went to the store to get more information about a couple of bikes I was interested in purchasing as a daily rider and whether or not it was worth it to upgrade from what I was currently riding.
