Balcones Psychiatry and Mental Health is excited to bring mental health services for adults and children, 8 years old and up, to central Austin. We believe affordable, accessible mental health care is important and that is why we are proud to accept a wide variety of private insurance plans.
The providers at BPMH believe in a patient centered model that focuses on providing patients with education regarding their diagnosis and treatment plan, but also on listening to and taking into account the patient's individual experience. While we are primarily a medication management practice, we believe in the value of therapy and always provide brief psychotherapeutic interventions.

We have been so happy with Kendall. Love Kendall in fact. I believe she has worked so hard to get my daughter on track with the right meds for her. My daughter was diagnosed with ADHD and DMDD and Kendall took the time to call me out of the blue with some thoughts on her own and how to treat her. She is kind, warm, funny, sweet and sensitive. We have been seeing her for almost 3 years now. I can laugh with her and cry with her. My daughter loves her to. We are on a good track with my daughters meds and I just dont think we would be there without Kendall.

I would not recommend this practice to anyone. As others have mentioned in their reviews, the front desk is essentially nonexistent. My provider, Kendall, made me feel like I was a burden, not a patient. I was constantly met with an attitude and questioned. For someone with depression and anxiety, seeking help for those specific issues, your "care / treatment" made me feel worse. This is absolutely unacceptable, unprofessional and unethical on all levels. I highly suggest anyone searching for clinical help to NOT invest any time or energy with this facility. They are about one thing: MONEY. They

Maranda wheeler is as unprofessional as they come , the front desk service is non existent. Save your self time and money and avoid this buisness at all costs I am not confused . The front desk doesn’t answer and the care provider matt ma has been not accessible for weeks , I’ve called the pharmacy has called several times a day . The only confusion is from the unorganized and un professional people at this establishment. Who prescribed medication and left the patient to flounder .

I love Dr. Maa and have had a great experience when I've been seen here, however it's impossible to reach the office by phone because no matter what button you push, the automated call just sends you to other automated calls. I've even had pharmacists confirm there's no way to actually speak to someone when you call the number. I have needed to speak with someone because my prescription for Vyvanse never got doctor approval but my only option at this point is to go into the office myself. Admittedly I've waited far too long to do this, but because of my work situation the only time I'm available

I see Kendall who is a psychiatric nurse practitioner. She is patient, funny, kind, and informed! I highly recommend seeing her if you are considering medication or diagnosis for a psychiatric condition.
I have only been to the office a few times toward the beginning of C19, but it was calming and clean, and the receptionist was super nice and helpful.

My spouse is a client of Jaimes, transferred over from before she parted ways with Austin Family Mental Health. My spouse has had 2 appointments with Jaime since then. The first time, she asked us to wait while she accommodated a client who showed up after missing their appointment. The second time, today, Jaime missed an appointment over teleconference. She left my spouse waiting until half an hour after the appointment time. My spouse reached out via email, concerned at Jaimes failure to show. My spouse was asked to reschedule at that time by the receptionist. Ms Nelson has made it clear over

Jaime might be late sometimes but it's because she wants her clients to get their moneys worth and hears us out to the full extent, she can't help that people are late sometimes. Not only does she take the time to listen to her clients but she makes sure to get to know them, she allows you to have some autonomy over your treatment, something of which I had never experienced from a mental health care provider prior to seeing her. I would rather have a therapist who cares to listen and provide genuine, therapeutic care than one who wants to get me out the door so they can get their next client out
