One of the most common skin conditions, affecting nearly 17 million people in the United States, is Acne. Often beginning at puberty due to high hormonal activity in adolescence, acne is caused by bacteria that feed on the oil produced by sebaceous glands, which leads to inflammatory outbreaks, cysts and sometimes scarring.
Over 1.2 million new cases of skin cancer are diagnosed per year. Many skin cancers are very curable if detected and treated early. Common signs of skin cancer are moles and/or lesions found on the body, which can be flat or raised and vary in color from pink flesh tones to dark brown or black.
It is important to practice monthly head-to-toe self-examinations of your skin, so you can find any new or changing lesions that might be cancerous or precancerous.We strongly suggest that everyone over the age of 40 have a full body skin cancer screening yearly, as well as anyone who may have a family history of atypical moles and melanoma.

If I could I would give them 10 stars!! Colleen and Dr. Alvira Kaplan are the best!! I was nervous when I got there however Colleen put my mind at ease and talked to me during the procedure to keep my mind off of what was going on. I really appreciated that!! They are very caring and would recommend them highly!!

I was referred to this practice by my primary care physician and I am very disappointed. As a new patient experiencing an acute bout of hives, I was uncertain if I should see a dermatologist or an allergist. Now I am certain that I should have made an appointment with an allergist. Initially, I met with a PA, without any through questioning or testing I was told that the rash happens for an unknown reason and to take Zyrtec for a month. Next, my appointment was at 4:45pm and when I exited the examining room the practice was dark and there was no one at the front desk to check me out. I felt obligated

The waiting time exceeded one hour. They originally scheduled me for a surgical procedure. After waiting for two months to have an appointment, and after showing up to my appointment half an hour early, I had to wait for one and half hour before getting seen. After getting seen I was told that because the dermatologist was not the one seeing me in my initial visit, the surgical procedure I am scheduled for is too complex for an outpatient setting, and asked me to call another number to schedule another appointment for the surgical procedure with another dermatology surgeon. I usually don't write reviews, even if my experience was awful. But today, I feel that I have share my review because it made me late for another appointment that now had to be reschedule because I did arrive on time.
My appointment with the doctor was scheduled for 9:00 am. I believe that I was the first appointment for the day and I arrived at 8:45. I was finally taken back to the examining room at 9:30 and saw the Dr at 9:40. This delay is unacceptable. I can understand if there was an emergency which may have caused a delay but this was not the case. When you check in at the front desk there

I have been getting facials from Jenna Brown for awhile now. She does an amazing job every time! I love going to her and I will continue to! All the reviews about her not being good must be a scam. She takes her time and makes sure my face is clean, unclogged, and started me on my anti aging process! Love her! :)

Some time ago I had a bad experience here with a removal that was done with Dr Badawy. I was left with a terrible scar that had to be corrected by a plastic surgeon. It was painful and highly visible. At the follow up for my procedure I didn’t even get to see a doctor and was told it looked fine. I expressed my concerns about it but they told me it was perfect. Nothing could have been further from the truth. I made the choice to never go back here because I wasn’t listened to. The absolute best place! Had acne all my life, seen dermatologist here haven’t had breakout since. Kristen in aesthetics does great work and is very knowledgeable. I tell her my problem areas and she makes a plan to correct it and I always love results and it’s never too much. I got injections done by a man here as well and he was great too! I loved my results but I can’t remember his name. I would definitely recommend skin smart they are truly the best!
