Services
If you're living with psoriasis, you know how uncomfortable and embarrassing the red, itchy, scaly skin can be. Treatment options for psoriasis include steroid cream or other medicated creams, oral medications, and light therapy. All of these treatments work well, but medications can have side effects and light therapy requires a regimen of three sessions a week for two to three months followed by maintenance therapy.
Please check with your insurance company prior to making an appointment to ascertain the procedures and treatments that are covered by your insurance plan. You are responsible for paying for any procedures you agree to that are not covered by your insurance plan. As a rule, cosmetic procedures such as laser hair removal, spider vein treatments, Botox, and Restylane are not covered by your healthcare insurance.
Alpha Dermatology of Pennsylvania, LLC has contracted with a number of government and private payors to provide dermatology care. These contracted payors consider Alpha Dermatology of Pennsylvania "in-network, " and Alpha Dermatology of Pennsylvania has agreed to the terms set forth by these payors.

Very positive experience. Seen quickly after checking in. Staff was very nice. My concern was addressed by Dr Shrager, who is most delightful. I'm 73, so the doctor took time to check over my skin, took one scraping as a proactive measure. I was given followup info and I was out of there. Would highly recommend this practice.

Greeted immediately for intake. Staff is pleasant. Taken back into patient room within minutes of appointment time. Once in room and changed for the visit, the staff came back into the room timely. Carly is thorough and mindful when scanning the body for potential moles that may need review. She listens to concerns and does not make you feel that she is rushing you out the door.

I have been to Alpha Dermatology several times and I have NEVER had to wait. In most doctors offices they bring you back and then you wait another 15 minutes before the doctor comes in and by the time your appointment starts, its already 45 minutes after the scheduled appointment time. Not so at Alpha. Today I had a mole removed and I was in and out about 10 minutes. Also, super nice staff and Dr. Schrager is awesome. Thank you!

Each visit I’m seen promptly by the nurse then very soon after by the Dr. Dr. Shrager is warm and easy going. He explains what he needs to do so I’m ready for the next step. He also offers his phone number in case you have questions after the visit. He is very reassuring and I highly recommend him.

My old dermatologist retired during the quarantine. And she was amazing. It was hard to imagine someone being even better than her. Little could I ever imagine that I would find it right around the corner from our home. These people are empathetic and compassionate and they truly listen to what's going on with you. It didn't dismiss anything and they are open to the fact that we are a team and that we know our bodies best as patients and they know the science behind why we feel the way we do. When that works together it's perfect harmony.

It's always a relief to go to Alpha Dermatology to manage my skin care! Carly is specialized managing eczema and sensitive skin, and I have gotten my best results following her recommendations. Alpha Dermatology does a great job keeping up with new medication and treatment options, and usually will have product samples for you to try before filling a prescription. Alpha also helps facilitate the process of filling prescriptions and providing cost effective coupons. Everyone at Alpha Dermatology is very friendly, and they have a lot of support staff that provide specialized skin care treatments

Do not go here. What was scheduled to be a primary consultation turned into unauthorized skin samples with no patient discussion prior to or after by a RN who knew nothing about me. The office only allows ONE skin spot (in my case incredibly small freckles or moles) to be removed at a time because any more "increases the risk of infection." This place is a money grab!!!! Other serious dermatology offices will allow multiple to be removed at a time. The only person at the office who took the time to address my concerns was the esthetician.

Dr. Shrager is funny and personable. He is quick which I've seen some people do not like. I didn't mind the speed of the surgeries I had done but would like a little more explanation while procedures are being performed. Wound care instructions on their website or a print out after a procedure would be helpful as I have short-term memory issues but I didn't relay that to the office staff so that's on me! I have no hesitation calling the office with questions. Staff are very courteous and helpful and wait time is minimal. Office is comfortable and clean. I would definitely recommend this practice

I am the real Sandy H, and I went to Alpha Dermatology several times for my skin disease. I am someone who has a lot of "issues" and sometimes people find me "annoying." I visited Dr. Shrager at Alpha Dermatology at in New Hope as a last ditch effort to correctly diagnose a reoccurring lip rash I suffered with on and off for 7 years.
Prior to my visit with him, I had visited 4 other doctors consisting of 2 dermatologists, my gynecologist, and an infectious disease specialist. I was diagnosed a cold sore (even though the lab work came back negative and my bumps looked nothing like a cold sore) and staphylococcus.

This place is fine if you have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO FOR THE REST OF THE DAY AND YOU WANT TO SIT IN A WAITING ROOM. I had an 815 appointment today. At 9, AFTER 3 people behind me were called back I voiced my concern and demanded a refund. They have absolutely no concern for patients time. I strongly suggest you look elsewhere.

I have been going to Alpha Dermatology for years and I am extremely pleased with Dr. Schrager and his staff. I have many skin issues due to years of being a sun worshipper and Dr. Schrager and his entire staff do an excellent job in dealing with these issues. When I have one I am concerned with they get me right in and take the necessary procedures needed for that issue. I also have had perls and laser resurfacing done by Dr. Schrager and his staff. He is an excellent Dr. And I could not be more pleased with the treatment I receive.

I don't even live in PA and I still make the efforts to come out and see Dr. D! Luckily I am in PA quite a bit because my friend grew up there and her family was able to recommend him to me. If you have a skin condition (mine is incurable) than he is your guy. Him and his entire staff (super friendly and caring, always remember me) give me the utmost attention while remaining professional experts. Completely trust them and make the huge efforts to get down to PA from NYC for these reasons.

The doctoring is great, dealing with the office is not. Difficult to get the office to interface with insurance companies. Current experience is a dozen calls and 4 weeks, lots of promises, still not resolved. Call backs are iffy. A very frustrating office to deal with.
