Services
Dr. Thanasi Loukas is a 2006 graduate of the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. While attending college, he received clinical honors for his work in implant dentistry. Dr. Loukas is a member of the American Dental Association, the Chicago Dental Society, the Illinois Dental Society, and the Hellenic American Dental Society.
Current research clearly demonstrates a link between optimal oral health and improved overall well-being throughout the lifetime. A number of university-based studies have shown that oral health problems like gum disease can directly impact a person's risk for developing systemic diseases like diabetes and cardiovascular disorders.
The office is located conveniently near the intersection of Cumberland and Higgins in Park Ridge, Illinois. Parking is located on the west side of the building. Take I-90 east and exit at Cumberland North. At the first light make a right hand turn and take Cumberland to Higgins and make another right hand turn.
If we could all start thinking about our smiles the way we think about our cars, everyone would probably enjoy better oral health. We use our smiles every day to get around in social and business situations, just like we use our cars to get around town. A smile needs all the same regular care and maintenance that a car needs.
This examination is provided to all new patients on their first visit unless requested otherwise. A full set of radiographs (x-rays) is taken unless provided by your previous dentist. The doctor will evaluate you for cavities, oral cancer, gum disease, abnormalities of the mouth and jaws, TMJ disorders, and more.

This review is a little over due, I recently had a baby and was due for a cleaning. I'm a diligent glosser and carry a tooth brush with me at all times. At any rate during my pregnancy I had developed 4 CAVITIES!!!!! 4 OF THEM!!! How did this happen? Turns out being pregnant can have some pretty serious damaged in your teeth as well as your body (go figure). BEWARE!!! Dr Loukas is not a honest dentist. I've always had great teeth and no dental issues. I switched to Dr. Loukas after moving into the area. The hygienist was very inexperienced. Dr. Loukas talked down to her when he entered the room. Dr. Loukas told me he had identified two cavities in my back teeth, although his hygienist did not see anything. He explained he would need to fill these and gave me no explanation and left the room within a few ministers of seeing me. Luckily I didn't let him do it during that visit! Dr. Thanasi Loukas did an amazing job on my wisdom teeth extraction oral surgeries! After only a week, my right side is almost fully recovered. It has been a seamless process, and he has been both caring and attentive. I am on my way to healing the left side, as he just did that today. He is thorough with directions and accommodating. Loukas Dentistry came highly recommended to me. After a family member had some severe mouth pain I reached out for help. They were very prompt at getting back to me and were able to see him the next day. Upon arrival Rosanna, front desk coordinator, was warm and friendly. Their facility was very state of the art. We were able to see what Dr. T saw via a large screen in the treatment room. Yesterday (06.28) was my first visit to Loukas Dentistry and I was thoroughly impressed from beginning to end. The receptionist was excellent and Dr. Thanasi along with his assistant were fantastic. I loved the tour of the office and how every step of the exam and cleaning was explained from beginning to end. I also learned that I was brushing my teeth the wrong way - who knew?! All in all, it was a wonderful experience and I am looking forward to being a patient of Loukas Dentistry for years to come! Highly recommended!
