Every time they've advocated for me with every CPS case I have lost my children starting in 2005 and again in 2018, 2019, I would not recommend them I would not hire them, unfortunately I got them as a public defenders, I ended up firing Laura Hughes as my public defender in 2019 because of her lack of diligence and work ethic. Refuse to provide exculpatory evidence to the commissioner and then later on to the judge who ended up terminating my parental rights.

Worst attorney I have ever worked with. Mr. Doug Hughes is the total definition of a con artist. He specializes in fast talk and spending a 4K retainer without ever letting you know where or how the money was used, then has the audacity to demand more. My associate and I met with him- he seemed to know what he was talking about so we hired him and gave a standard 4K retainer. Not even a few weeks later WITH NOT ONE DOCUMNETED EFFORT- CALL OR EMAIL UPDATE ON MY CASE he invoiced me for another 4K plus an additional $1200 for already spent fees!! So I thought 'WOW' he has really worked a lot and hard

Doug talked a great game in order to win my business. Do not be fooled. When it came time to show up in court, he was thoroughly outmatched by the opposing attorney. Doug flat out neglected to mention key parts of my case, that I feel would've made a huge impact on the outcome. After the hearing, I brought these concerns to him via email, and he never responded. I then asked him, "where do we go from here," regarding the next phase of our case. He never responded. In fact, I never got a single response from him personally for nearly 5 more months. But he billed me...A LOT every single month. However
