The word yoga means many different things to many different people in modern American culture. At EEY we teach Classical Hatha Yoga from a lineage that began with Shri Yogendra who founded the Yoga Institute in Santa Cruz Mumbai, India. Until the early 1900s yoga was practiced seriously only by yogis who could devote their lives to the practice.
A morning yoga practice is a gift for seasoned yogis and beginners alike. Whether you're striving for calm, clarity, or motivation-- attending a morning yoga class is an amazing way to set the tone your day. A class with Coleen provides the space to bring mindfulness to a busy life by focusing on movement and breath.
There are lots of reasons that you might want to schedule a private session with one of our instructors. If you're new to yoga you might benefit from a private session to get more comfortable with some basic yoga poses and ask any questions you might have. If you feel that your practice has plateaued or want individual instruction for any reason a private session might be a perfect fit for you too.
We invite you to attend any class that you feel meets your needs. If you find yourself in a class that is less or more strenuous than you had anticipated, we encourage you to make accommodations for yourself and listen to your body, honoring what you know is best for you. A 75 minute class that accommodates all students in attendance.
Visitors are required to remove their shoes and leave them in the designated place by each door. We accept Mastercard, Visa, American Express, cash, and checks as payment. If a check is returned, a $25 service fee will be charged and checks will not be taken for future payment. Payments for classes are non-refundable.

I walked into East Eagle Yoga one Saturday morning and basically haven't left since. It has become my home away from home, my saving grace, and my sanctuary. The second I walked through those doors, I could feel the change in energy and the peace and love I didn't even know I was searching for. And yet it's all there without pretense or stuffyness or judgment. No competition. No push to be a human pretzel. Just support and encouragement to just BE. It's down to earth in the most other worldly way possible. I found this center just about a month or two before the pandemic took hold of us all. I

For the past three weeks I have been taking classes at EEY, I've learned they had recently changed ownership and along with that apparently spruced up the place. I find it to be a very relaxing atmosphere. This is a place that truly offers the idea of a yoga community through different events and the connection between students and teachers. The beginner classes are great for that exact purpose and the "open" classes vary depending on attendance and offer different levels of personal practice. Highly recommended for someone looking for a yoga home!

Yesterday I attended my first yoga class ever. I was a both nervous and excited before walking in but once I was inside, the tranquil room and very friendly people put me at ease. I spoke with Joe before the class and filled out paperwork that took about 30 seconds. After that, we started class. The class was very relaxing and the poses were not hard at all. I was also told before the class to go at my own pace and do what I can. Joe would walk around and dictate what pose to do next while also helping people with their form and even demonstrating. I had to have a little help here and there because

Truth be told, i haven't attended a class at EEY in quite a few months, but one of the things i love about this studio is that the owner, nicole, will recognize me (and know my name) the next time i venture in. i like that.
nicole (who owns the studio along with her husband joe, also a certified instructor), is a wonderful yogini, not simply because she is so skilled, but also because there is a warmth to her teaching style...her voice is gentle as she explains the postures, not just takes us through them...she also has a background in nutrition & health counseling, so she is able to
