Lifecycle Adventures
Since 2004, our unique blend of custom itineraries and personal service has been delivering perfect cycling vacations for those who want to explore on their own terms. Our Self-Guided tours are great for singles, couples and smaller groups who enjoy exploring independently with support in the background.

Our Private Guided tours are great for larger groups looking for full time support. With all our tours, you choose your start date, the length of your tour, and your preferred style of accommodation. All our tours are private. During your transfers, bike fitting, and route briefings, your guide is focused on just you rather than having to cater to a large group.
Services
For as long as I can remember, I have loved cycling and travelling and I dreamed of starting a business to share this passion with others. So, in 2003, I left my career as a management consultant to create LifeCycle Adventures. But I didn't want to be just another group tour operator. I wanted to give guests insights from local riders while allowing them the freedom to discover for themselves.
As a boy, Tony caught the cycling bug riding near his childhood home in Yorkshire, England. In 2000, Tony moved to San Francisco where he founded LifeCycle Adventures. Tony has organized and led cycle tours in Costa Rica, Cuba, France, Italy, Scotland, Spain, Morocco, Vietnam and, England. In his previous career, Tony was a partner in the firm of Accenture, specializing in the area of Leadership and Human Performance.
Let us know when you would like to travel, how long you would like your tour to be and how many people might be in your party. Tell us more about you and what you're interested in! While completely optional, providing us with more information helps us design the perfect tour for you. Thank you for providing us with your tour preferences.
With our Self-Guided tours an expert local guide takes care of your transfers, route briefing, luggage moves, and planned transfers. They are also available should you need mechanical assistance, help with a dinner reservation, or general questions. You have a GPS unit, maps, and a detailed guidebook to help you select your route, choose where you eat, and, generally, explore the area.
At the start of your self-guided tour, your guide transfers you from your hotel, sets up your bike, and gives you a full route briefing. They then take care of all the behind-the-scenes logistics while you guide yourself along the routes; riding at your own pace and choosing the route difficulty that best suits you.

From the minute our guide picked us up until our departure, this trip was fantastic! Our "Mama Bear" guide went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed and enjoyed our trip. She would surprise us in beautiful places to take photos of our group riding. The rides were breathtaking!

Best vaction experience ever. We spent 4 days touring Provence, France with Greg and Christophe and 3 other couples. The land, food, and lodging was the best. We couldnt have had the experience without them and we will keep coming back year after year. I cannot say enough good things about them and Lifecycle.
We had a combinition of expert and novice bike riders in our group and Lifecycle found the right bikes and routes for all of us. Real road bikes for the experts. E-bikes for the rest. Ride together some days and meet up at lunch the other days. The bikes were top-tier.

Six of us toured the San Juan Islands with Lifecycle adventures in August. The tour was self-guided and significantly overpriced. As a group of 70-year-olds with many tours with different companies in the US and worldwide, we all agreed that this was a company that we would never use again. . They advertised a concierge service to help make dinner reservations and transportation. Still, they were nonresponsive when we requested assistance. Our local guide, Thomas, was helpful, but Lifecycle adventures reserved rooms at Rosario Resort for half of our trip. The resort was not appropriate for bicycle

San Juan Island, WA 4 day cycle tour: Lifecycle adventures is a friendly and courtesy cycling outfitter. They were very prompt with all communications and answered all our questions. Our guide was friendly and helpful but somewhat unorganized at times. We booked this trip as a couple for four nights with breakfast included. It's essential a self guided tour of the islands with maps and preplanned routes provided by Lifecycle. Our total cost was $5200 for the four nights and four days of riding. They planned this trip relatively quickly for us and during the pandemic. We feel ultimately that the

This was our 2nd LifeCycle Adventure, this year we went to Holland.
Vicki, once again, paid every attention to detail and with the help of her guides in Holland, were able to put together a most memorable custom bike tour for us. We were limited on time this trip so we were picked up at the airport and she was able to re-route the start of our trip to get us on a dairy farm / cheese tour which we really wanted to do while we were there. Bike riding through the countryside, little towns and along the coast was the best way to "see" Holland. I also need to mention that the quality and outfit of

This was our second self-guided cycling tour with LifeCycle Adventures. Like on our 2009 Napa and Sonoma experience, we were totally satisfied about every aspect of this vacation: excellent cycling supported by very accurate directions, very good and well- maintained bicycles, beautiful landscapes - actually, it got more and more lovely as the days went on. The various accommodations were simple excellent. What we appreciated most, though, was the watchful guidance we received from Randy and Jeffrey, and being able to share so much with them, especially the final ride when Jeff joined us. We do

Lifecycle Adventures did a great job and I highly recommend them. Their route planning was thorough and tailored to our preferences, and the Willamette Valley was a sheer delight. They moved quickly to secure the lodging we wanted when we planned the trip. Our guide Jeff Huffman was engaging, knowledgeable and quickly available for any immediate support we needed. The bikes were good, and outfitted as we had requested. One of the best parts of Lifecycle's customized tours vs organized tours is the flexibility -- if you want to sleep in, stop to pick cherries, or visit an extra winery...you just

My wife and I took a customized wine country bike tour in the Napa Valley. Laura was great, setting up all the details and supporting us along the way. The routes were mapped out well, taking us past a good amount of wineries and scenery, and the riding was good as well with lots of varied terrain. We loved the combination of activity and tourism. Would highly recommend, and we're planning on using LifeCycle Adventures again for a trip through Tuscany.

We had such a great time, and really recommend LifeCycle Adventures... they did everything they said they would do, and more. I really feel they went above and beyond. They met us at our hotel, we talked the entire way to the start, fit us, were really patient with all our questions, and even followed us down to the first town to check on us.
They and their drivers really know Italy and the life, so we didn't feel like pure tourists, but we also did all the tourist and local things that were of interest. When we couldn't do a full day's ride, we took the ride part way and talked the whole time

We just returned from a 5-day bike tour in the Columbia River Gorge that we booked through Life Cycle Adventures. It was one of the best vacations we have ever had! We are already dreaming about our next trip with them. The cycling was challenging and fun, the scenery was amazing, and accommodations and dining just what we’d hoped for. Justin picked us up with our bike and luggage took us to the start of the first day, then provided us with clear directions and suggestions for option rides, and we were on our way. Each afternoon as we arrived at our B&B or lodge, our bags and friendly faces were
