Twister Cake Bakery
Due to global supply shortages & rapid rises of costs we had to increase the prices of Cozonac & Beigli. This was not an easy decision to make and we thank you for your support! PICKUP ORDERS: we need 48 hrs notice, minimum of $40, available for curbside pickup in Middle Village, Queens. Please call or text (347) 946-2141 with any questions.

Who are we? Twister Cakes Bakery is a family owned and operated, mobile bakery since 2010. We freshly bake our cakes around New York City, using an authentic, generations old, Transylvanian recipe. What are Twister Cakes? Known as Chimney Cakes in English, Kurtoskalacs in Hungarian, and Trdelnik in Czech, Twister Cakes are four hundred years old sweet treats from Transylvania, Romania.
Services
Turnaround for orders is a week, at most. We ship Mondays, Tuesday & Wednesday in order for you to receive the order before the weekend. This place is absolutely amazing. Their baked good are ridiculously tasty and fresh and just like I remember them from Romania. Everyone must try them at least once. I will order and order and order again. Their customer service is also top. They are small family owned and it shows they do everything with love. Give them a chance to wow you with their goodies! We tried the cozonac, wafers, Twister cakes of course, the cheese Pretzels, Danishes, Crescents and savory sticks. I honestly can't decide on a favorite!!! All delicious!! My friends, hubby and son loved everything so far too :)

They are no longer at this address. Just doing catering and special events. They need to update their description to reflect this.

To begin with, I love the products of this bakery. While Romanian bakery products have a special sentimental draw to me, I am convinced they would win over anyone with a sweet tooth (with or without an interest in sampling the Romanian cuisine). Second and most importantly, they have a truly personal touch in their customer service. I was truly impressed and touched by how dedicated they are to their customers. I hope many can appreciate their talent and passion!

We were coming out of the Nintendo store and came across twister cake bakery. What a great twist on an ice cream cone! We bought the cone with Oreo ice cream and it definitely hit the spot! The cone is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. We really enjoyed this treat and will be coming again! The coconut cone was also very delicious!

I was exploring the city and started watching the baker make his twister cake. He asked if I wanted one and I said I was just watching, he let me take pictures and showed be his tattoo of the shop logo, this man is dedicated to his food! After watching I had to try one, I had mine with ice cream, nutella and sprinkles... and WOW, delicious! A fun experience that added to my first day in NYC.

This review is long overdue. If you haven't been acquainted...you're missing out...lol! This mom and pop outfit has humble beginnings and stays true to form, even though they have way more to offer than just their signature chimney cakes. Anyway, I digress. For the purpose of this review, I will focus only on said chimney cake. The best way to describe this delightfully exotic treat is to envision a Cinnabon and an Auntie Anne's Pretzel having a baby. It's truly the best of both worlds! Even though the pandemic has placed a hold on experiencing these treats first hand at day

I love twister cakes. The last time I had them was at Queens Night Market.

Recently I found out that they also make chocolate babka. OMG! I thought these are super delicious! I didn't take a photo when it was whole. I apologize for the photo I shared. I only remembered to take a photo after eating most of it :-). You'll understand why when you decide to get one. I highly recommend these. They are fairly big so make sure to share. Whoever you're sharing with will love you for it.

I'm buying a couple more as gifts.

Edit: I ordered some more and this time took a photo before

Absolutely the most delicious Christmas sweets I ever had in US: cozonaci, baigli, wafer cake, chocolate salami si homemade fudge simply melts in your mouth! You can tell everything is freshly baked and the best ingredients were used.
Everything tastes fantastic, which means it will probably not make it to Christmas, but that's our fault (we are "on a diet")
Cherry on the cake: these amazing bakers deliver within NYC or you can go pick it up and devour it in your car like we did!

What an amazing place. So happy to have found them online. We had these in Romania and fell in love with them. They were so good and we have been trying to find them in the United States. We found this place and they are amazing!! I also had an issue with my order and had to have the date changed and they had the best customer service - so easy to get a hold of them and they were so friendly. Highly recommend ordering from them - you won't regret it and you will likely be ordering more in the future - it is that good!!

Twister Cake has a new twist: layer cake! I ordered my favorite, Dobos tort, and it came out great! Two things I loved about this version: it's not too sweet, and secondly, there's a lot of creme relative to the thin layers of cake. Some may also appreciate that the chocolate is more dark chocolatey than it is mocha- like. That's a personal preference.

A million thanks to these talented hands that made a birthday celebration sweet!

USPS delivered ahead of schedule. WOW WOW WOW. These are absolutely fantastic and there should be no problem consuming them in the required time!! A must-try.

Have you ever had an authentic Chimney Cake? No???? Oh, boy.
You absolutely must - MUST! - try it.
I promise you, you will fall in love with those delicious, crispy on outside, doughy on inside, unroll-as-you-eat pastry creations.

We got addicted to them during our travels to Hungary and Czechia, there you can find them on every street corner, rolling and twisting over the fire, and they smell like sugar heaven. Altho they vary a bit between those two countries, and original came from Hungary, both versions are similar enough and both are heavenly. More often, you will find unfilled Chimney
