Faria Bakery
You can bake two loaves of bread in two different cities, using the same flour and the same recipe, and the bread will have different tastes, different qualities. And it's shaped, too, by how it's handled; by the craftsmanship and the care in the baker's hands. In this way and in so many others, Faria is shaped by Sacramento. Twice-baked croissant with almond frangipane, topped with pastry cream, powdered sugar and sliced almonds.

Fantastic standard and inventive new flavors of breads, as well as sweet and savory pastries. You can trust them enough to get a little adventurous with their fresh takes on classics.

Very disappointed with what we purchased. My daughter is a Le Cordon Bleu graduate so we have a tradition of visiting bakeries wherever we travel. I have had kouign amann at a few bakeries and never anything so salty. I almost think they either added extra salt or used salt in place of sugar. It was inedible. Unfortunately we purchased 3 of them. The pain au chocolat we shared so when cut in half I saw no chocolate. We decided to dissect it and found a small amount of chocolate in one quarter of it.
I do not work for a bakery nor am I affiliated with one but I do like good baked goods and didn

We went to sacramento spesifically to they their pastrys since we are huge fan of Kouign-amanns. Their over cooked so the glazy stickyness is bitter and then they topped it with large rock salt on top? Firstly im confused and secondly disapointed.
Our chocolate croissant didnt have any chocolate inside it and the ends of the almond croissant were rock hard.....
We really hoped we would like it but we were greatly disappointed.

Great bread most of the time but the staff can be rude, also the website is not user friendly and they don’t update quantities so it’s difficult to know what is in stock and what isn’t. I called to order in but I was told to order online, kinda difficult if it says everything is out of stock . Had a rude experience my first time there, but I like the bread enough so I come back.

This quickly became my favorite bakery in the entire Sacramento region with the first bite I had of their amazing coffee cake. The pain de chocolate is out of this world and all the Castries are fantastic, including today's morning bun.
We picked up a galette to bring home for the holidays and it borders on too pretty to eat, but trust me, we're going to enjoy every bite.
Staff comes to a farmers market near the house, making Sunday morning runs a must-do, but we drove the 35 minutes today to enjoy our favorite.

First introduced when they had a booth at a local farmers market in Roseville. Fell in love with the freshness, quality and creativity in their pastries and breads. It became a weekly Mecca. Then headed to the bakery downtown to experience lunch based on the market staff's comments. Limited sandwich menus but oh so delish! Have traveled here again today to pick up a special treat of a beautiful galette de rois. Amazing! I'm sure it will taste as good if not better than it looks and it looks absolutely gorgeous!

The best almond croissant I've had!! It was so good.
I also got a olive loft of bread. It's also so good. It has a great flavor and the olives are not over powering the bread flavor

We stoped by on a weekend and bought a couple of croissant, it was fantastic, but bought a miso loaf of bread to take home and it was completely burned and belong to the trash can. Please inspect your expensive loaf of bread before taking it home. It was the first time I ever bought a loaf of bread that was bitter and burned!!!!

I've seen the lines out the door all the time and I thought I would try this place.

The Food:
Tried their Country Loaf and the Morning Buns. The country loaf was way over done, somewhat leathery. Difficult to slice and the exterior crust just tasted burned. The Morning buns were absent of that traditional orange flavor and inside they were underbaked. The dough was still raw.

The Vibe:
I happened to show up when there was no longer a line and they didn't seem as busy. When I first walked in, the employees at both counters just stared at me awkwardly. You know the stare... when white

I'm always impressed with the pastries and breads I get from Faria. The pastries are fabulous and very consistent. Since Faria changed their ordering system changed, there always seems to quite a few items available, even later in the day. I'm pleasantly surprised and grateful to get the good stuff when I sleep in on the weekends. I think Faria has the best sourdough breads in Sacramento. I always look forward to coming here.
I've taken one of their hands-on classes, their baguette one. Very fun and beginner-friendly.

I have been to this bakery 3 times and each time I have gotten overbaked/burned pastries. I have gotten multiple baguettes and croissants (regular and almond) and the bottom and/or tips are overbaked. If the prices were $4 instead of $6 this might be acceptable, but the quality they are proposing to have isn't meeting their prices. This bakery comes highly recommended from several sources, but I would not recommend it as it is now.

I came to Faria on a Wednesday around 11am, and there was no line! I also found parking right in front of the store. Sadly, their online menu was outdated, and they didn't carry some of the seasonal pastries I wanted to try.

I ordered the infamous almond croissant, kouign amann, chaussons aux pommes (apple pastry), and pain de mie loaf. The pastries were incredibly flaky without being too heavy/greasy. They smelled so good, it was hard to resist eating them in the car. I enjoyed that the chaussons aux pommes wasn't too sweet and had LOTS of apple filling! The almond croissant was as

Great bakery in the neighborhood. Very friendly workers. There are different selections of pastries and sandwiches, we tried the morning bun, rye and jam toast, ham and cheese sandwiches, all of them are delicious. Don't go there too late, they sold out their selections pretty early in the afternoon. They have indoor and outdoor seating area.

I got Buck wheat coffee cake and morning bun ( not sure the name). Both are good quality. Coffee cake is a well combined with saltiness and sweetness. Definitely need a coffee. It’s pretty powdery texture so you might need fork or spoon. The morning bun is so good especially in pastries. It’s moisture but also crispy. Willing to try another menu here.

Very lovely local bakery in the Oak Park area. Lots of parking if you also don't mind walking, it is hard to miss as it is on a Main Street. They have a firm maximum of ordering customers due to Covid protocols so be prepared to wait outdoors in the event they are busy.

I found them through an Instagram ad for their pumpkin croissant and they did not disappoint. The portions are generous and they did not lack in flavor. I like the crunchy, browned exterior of their items, however, I can see how someone may not be a fan. I loved the Chocolate Croissant, the Pumpkin Cheesecake Croissant was

Edit 6 months later:
I came back again now that they are open for dine in now!!! Such a cute bakery cafe. Their coffee is actually so decent. I tried the hojicha sesame latte and I loved it. The fig galette was delicious as well as the coffee cake. Cute interior atmosphere as well. Idk about their bread but reccomend their pastries and cafe drinks.
Old review:
The quality of the baked goods here are top notch, even if it is more on the expensive side, it is worth it.

Best. Coffee Cake. Ever.

I didn't come here expecting a mind-blowing baked goods experience. In fact, the selection of local bakeries I'd already tried had me set up for disappointment. Fortunately, Faria is nothing like many of their competitors. Whoever is baking their treats is a master and deserves my business many times over.

I popped in on a Sunday morning to get some goodies for a friends gathering to watch football. I was expecting a picked over selection but actually found many options. Chocolate croissants, almond croissants and little puff pastries, to name a few. I bought

I love Faria Bakery! Trying to find your not so ordinary bakery, this is your spot. I believe they use a different type of flour which makes them unique. Not only do they have a store, but they visit a lot of the near by farmers markets. Best believe, they always sell out quick.

Recently we decided to go to their store front. Cute spot near mid town. Trendy looking area. Their goodies are really delish! This recent time we got their crossaint with cheese filled and their coffee cake. Their coffee cake was huge! Crossaints we're flaking but good.

Definitely recommend this place! Must try

I’ve been a big fan of Faria’s bread and so I don’t want to be overly critical. However, potential customers should know that the consistency of their bread is hit and miss. Sometimes they burn the bread. I know, I know they’ll say that’s their style. But burned is burned and charred tastes bad. Check out the photo of the bottoms of two different wheat breads. One was great and the other burnt. Give them a try but maybe ask to see the bottom of the bread before you buy! Tasty bread when done well.

I've gotten into the habit of going to local coffee shops and bakeries every weekend morning . Last week I woke up a little too late , but still managed to pay this lovely local gem a visit !

Faria bakery is located in the heart of Sacramento's very own historic oak park neighborhood . It's where the hood meets hipster ! They're doing a great job at following social distancing guidelines , and have a limit of two people of the same party inside at a time . Unfortunately because it was almost 3:00 at the time of our arrival , almost everything was gone and their espresso bar

This was my first visit to Faria after a friend of mine gave me some of her chocolate croissant from here and I had to sit down and close my eyes to just revel in that first bite.
I got there are 1:00, they close at 3:00, but I would suggest arriving in the morning because they seem to be doing brisk business and sold out of several items even in the few minutes I was waiting in line. The pain de mie is a simple bread with a soft, almost chewy texture and great subtle flavor. The raglan handpie was quite flavorful - think of a samosa in a flaky pastry and just the right amount of spice. The black

A small local bakery and cafe that sells out of stuff really quickly. Yesterday, I went at 11am and I got the last almond croissant and stollen. Would definitely call in advance to reserve your order or try to go early. The baguette was slightly sour, but very yeasty and delicious. It was so good w a little bit of butter. I couldn't stop and ate almost 1/2 a loaf by myself.
