I love this studio! I travel in from State College just to attend their classes. I have practiced at yoga studios in PA, CA, NYC, etc - and this continues to be one of my favorite places! It is full of positivity, great energy, and wonderful instructors. I always leave class feeling inspired and for that I’m very grateful.

This place was highly recommended by a friend who has been attending for years. I was very excited about my first hot yoga experience, but extremely disappointed. I was inexperienced with yoga and received 0 guidance or direction from the instructor, which made me feel very out of place and isolated. I found myself standing there at points unable go hold poses and embarrassed. Sadly, the instructor knew it was my first time and based upon my experience, it was certainly my last with Steamtown Yoga.

Wonderful place. Excellent atmosphere and amazing instructors. The teachers make sure that it feels like it is a completely individual experience tailored to suit your needs! Everyone seems to know each other and get along. I was hooked after my first class. I've been recommending SHY to all my friends. Not only do I find it an amazing practice for my mental state, it has also helped my lower back pain tremendously in the time since I started. I can not speak highly enough of SHY. Truly one of Scranton's biggest gems.

I have been practicing hot yoga at SHY about 3 times a week since July. I have never (and cannot stress this enough) felt better in my entire life. I'm calmer and just simply happier. I have lost weight before, but this time around I leaned out in a much better way. LOVE hot yoga, this studio, and its entire community.

In my experience the studio owners and employees are most welcoming, and Yanni is known to be an inspirational instructor and individual who genuinely cares about his students. I've never heard anything but great accolades about Yanni or Lara, and they've been nothing but professional and courteous in all of my dealings with them.

I love SHY. I practiced Yoga via YouTube videos for a few years before getting the courage to go to a yoga class. It was getting cold out, and hot yoga seemed attractive. I was sooooo nervous the first time I went, and was so in my head about being judged/not good enough/too sweaty etc. The staff at SHY are so welcoming and kind, that they made me feel right at home and didn't make me feel like the inflexible newby that I was so scared of being.
Everyone is so kind and helpful, and I'm so grateful to SHY. I wish I didn't work so much, as I would be there every day if I could!

Obsessed with this studio. Great instructors who know you and learn how to help you from class to class. They primarily offer Bikram yoga classes, but have some hot Vinyasa classes as well. I enjoy Gina and Lara, they're some of the best teachers I've had in a long time. Afternoon classes can get crowded- so I try to get there early to get a decent spot. Prices are affordability priced. Studio is very clean and refreshing. Love Steamtown!

SHY is one of the best studios in Scranton by far! Attending hot yoga at SHY is like a mini vacation somewhere tropical. All are welcome. Walking into the studio is like a weight being lifted off your shoulders because you know you are going to have a wonderful practice, regardless of skill or level.
The staff at SHY are always phenomenal and greet everyone in a friendly and personal manner. They are always more than helpful to check you in, help you get set up, or answer any questions one may have.
SHY isn't just your average hot yoga studio. It's so much more! It's a community

This place has positioned itself as a fabric of the Downtown Scranton culture, and after being a member for the last couple months, I can see why.
The entire staff is absolutely spectacular. They mention you by name, even when you haven't introduced yourself yet. Though that may sound a little creepy, I like it as it adds a personal touch to the experience. The first time I signed up, they gave me a call before class making sure I had all the necessary equipment (yoga mat, towel, and water), then after class they made sure to seek you out to see how you were doing and advise you to drink

They were running a deal for 30 days of yoga for $30. I had never done yoga before, so I figured this was a perfect opportunity to try something new and I'm glad I did.
I had such a wonderful experience at Steamtown Hot Yoga. I was nervous the first time I came here, but the staff was very good at accommodating me and getting me settled before my first class. Before the class started they have first-timers meet with the instructor, who gives you a tour of the facility and answers any questions you may have.
I can not say enough nice things about the staff here, they were extremely welcoming

The staff here are really friendly and recognize you when you come in and make a point of speaking with you after class to address any problems you're having or just to see if you're enjoying your classes. They also have a handy app which allows you to manage your account and register for classes ahead of time.
