HMS Bikes
HMS Bikes is an independent, family-owned bike shop. As cyclists ourselves who frequently ride through the areas of Dove Mountain, Gladden Farms, Picture Rocks, and Continental Ranch, we wanted to open a full-service bike shop in Marana, which was more conveniently located to these areas. We pride ourselves on providing a relaxed, friendly atmosphere within our shop.

We understand that every rider had to start somewhere and not everyone knows all of the "correct" terms for and intricacies of bike parts. If you don't know the difference between a wheel and a tire, or you call the part you are looking for a "thingy mabobber", we will work together to figure out what you need.
Services
All group rides will leave from and finish at HMS Bikes. Group rides start at 7:00 a.m. The time listed is the time we will be leaving the shop. Please plan to be there with enough time to get all of your gear situated before the ride starts. Call us in advance if you have any questions or want to join our cycling group.

Went in to buy 2 tubes, walked out with a bike. Ive been on the hunt for a gravel"ish" bike and discovered the Contend - not quite a road bike, not quite a gravel bike. For the price i get 105s, hydraulic, internal cables, carbon fork.
Since its rare to find a bike in stock these days, i bought it.
But i bought it today and at HMS because i liked the vibe of the store - an intangible but important to me.
Give them a try.

I needed new tires put on my bike last week. These guys recommended just the right tire and tubes, ordered ones to fit my bike, and installed them. I wasn't in a hurry, but they got it all done in a couple of days during their busy season. They are a full service center with all kinds of gear and clothing. Customer service was great. Prices were reasonable. Great location in Marana with good parking. Near the Loop too.

Friendly, knowledgeable and extremely willing to offer any advice or information. Mike, the owner, is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. They've been able to fix any problem I or my wife have had with our bikes and are very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend HMS for any bike repairs or for any bike supplies that you might need.

Needed to have both tubless self healing tires serviced. I checked on line to see about a DIY kit, but it was going to cost me more than to have HMS do it. I like to do things myself and have never attempted to fix these types of tires before, so I decided to give HMS a shot and I'm glad I did.
I dropped the bike off on Thursday afternoon and it was completed by Friday, however HMS suggested they keep until Saturday to make sure the tires were 100% before it left the shop.
It works great and I appreciate the honest friendly service and attention to detail.

I took in 2 bike for their deluxe tuneup. One bike had a squeak on the front break and the other needed the front derailleur adjusted. After a week of doing maintenance on both bikes, they both had the same “issues” as they went in. The squeak was still there on the first bike and the front derailleur on the second bike seemed like it was not adjusted since the shifting issue was still there. Note that not a single phone call was made to me regarding potential part replacement such as the break pads or disk. When I asked about the squeak on the break they told me that I can just clean the disk

Awful experience. I brought a bike, fresh out of the box, to be put together by HMS. I was called and told the bike was ready for pick up. I was charged $60. It was a downhill experience from that moment on.
I was given a bike, which the owner put together, and said was "ready to go," but when I hopped on to cruise home, I quickly discovered the chain was off. I walked the bike back into the shop and an employee threaded the chain on, but there was no offer to do a once over on the bike to make sure everything else was safe and functioning. I left the shop and peddled home to discover

After the sale this shop continues to assist me. Today, I needed to find a good place to donate my extra parts. Over the years I collected parts that are no longer needed. I called HMS. They helped me find a non-profit that takes donations, right here in Tucson.

I also needed a tool referral. It was about time that I replaced my old cheap chain breakers. They refereed me to a brand that made a quality tool. Sure enough, the reviews for the Pedro Chain tool were terrific. Since they don't stock that tool, I was referred to look for one on-line. Thanks HMS.

Great bike shop. Bought my Kona mountain bike from them and they have always been great with anything I've needed. Very helpful and locally owned. Won't go anywhere else with my bike even though I live farther away now. Nothing like a local shop that cares. I say that from experience from riding and racing years gone by. The corporate stores just want to sell. They have fixed any fine tuning issues with my bike and tubeless tires often without a charge just to make it right for me and have never tried upselling me anything. Outstanding shop highly recommended.

My husband recently purchased an Orbea mountain bike here and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish! I (his wife) did a lot of the advance looking and research and was never ignored or treated in a condescending manner. ( This happens more than I would like to think about. I like to think it isn't because I am an older female in a bike shop, but you never know...). The bicycle we purchased was in perfect mechanical shape and we enjoyed a spirited ride the very next day! Our request to have the bike converted to a tubeless system only took about an hour. Took bike in for basic tune up and replace both tubes and have liners installed. They called and said bike was ready. They didn't install liners because they said they couldn't find any and only changed out one tube because they said they didn't feel that they needed to change both even though the customer requested it and was willing to pay for it..... They did not call and inform that they were not doing the work the customer requested. I will never bring any bike to this place and warning friends and family not to do business with them... They were rude and smarmy.

I am happy to have a nice locally-owned bike shop here. We went in to have my son's tube replaced in his mountain bike and they asked my son if he knew how to replace it, and since he didn't know how, they took him aside and taught him how. I've been to other bike places in Tucson, but I will go back to this one from now on.

Fast, efficient, and quality work at a great price! Nice job guys.
Just moved to Tucson from D.C. I checked three other local bike shops. They were all more expensive and seemed not interested in tuning up my two Trek 7.3 Hybrids.
Nice selection of new bikes and accessories.
5/5 would work with HMS again.
Thanks and see you soon.

Took my bike in for a tuneup and $50 in parts. They charge me $280 I was grossly overcharged in my opinion. When I arrived to pick up my bike I noticed the spokes in my back room were extremely loose when I mentioned it to the owner he had that point was very reluctant to take care of it. After I got home I also noticed the headset and the cracks were loose. I've since had to spend more money at another bike shop to finish my tuneup. Needless to say I won't be going back.haha spelling errors spelling errors Google voice sucks

It is so nice to have a locally owned bike shop in Marana! I highly recommend HMS Bikes as they are knowledgeable, friendly, and provide excellent customer service. I brought my bike in for a tune up last weekend and it could not have run any smoother than it did today! Thank you for the great service :-)

If i could rate them with minus zero stars I would. Don't go to HMS Bikes...went in for a "tune up" and came out with a bike so messed up it is pathetic. Now i have to take it to a repair shop to fix all the things they messed up. Save yourself a big headache and never go there. It was also very strange that after being there several times there were never any other customers. I don't know how they stay in business it you want to call it a business at all!

Would have given no stars if possible. Took a bicycle to get tuned up so I could give to young girl who doesn't have a bike. I told them that the handle bar stem was loose. They wanted to change the brake cables cause they were tangled but still looked ok to me. Went back and picked it up. Well it didn't look like the bike had been touched other than the new brake cables. I called another shop and they said unless the cables are frayed or broken they normally can be used. The stem was still loose and while test riding it the handle bars spun in my hand. What would have happened to a

Friendly, helpful on my first visit looking for a new ride. I like that it is locally owned and close to a hub of activity on that side of town. It is conveniently located with working man hours.

My second visit was to inquire about group rides. The owner, Mike is very helpful, the website is updated regularly.

The group ride I went on was perfect. I will be going again.

Ride On!!

We've been there a few times, mostly because it's fairly close to where we live and I just needed a few stuff to fix up our bikes. Every time we've been there, we were the only ones there. Bought some stuff, and apparently the stuff we got was not enough, because the credit card machine would not work. Yeah right, I just used it at Frys right before I came in and now it magically does not work?? More like we didn't spend enough money to use the credit card.
