She understands that change is not sustainable if it is not individualized for each person's unique needs and lifestyle.

How is it that so many intelligent, creative, successful individuals all find themselves in the same quandary with one of the most basic human needs? People feel confused about what, when and how much to eat. They don't know how to eat to feel healthier, happier, and more satisfied. Sadly, most don't know how to eat without feeling deprived or guilt-ridden.
An Eating Disorder serves as a coping mechanism in the absence of other, healthier ways of managing difficulty and distress. Eating Disorders are emotionally based and the behaviors are only a symptom to the disease. The disordered eating behaviors are only an attempt to numb, control, avoid, and forget the emotional pain that underlies the disease.
Erin is a compassionate person and brings this to her work with eating disorder clients. I have known her since she began her career and she has worked in a variety of settings including my residential program, Monte Nido and my day treatment program, The Eating Disorder Center of California. Erin brings all of this training to her private practice work.
