Tara and I started our journey together over fifteen years ago at my very first salon, Planet Hair, where we worked side by side for ten years. After a successful decade there, we continued on our journey together as I opened Color Bar 51 in 2010. I remember saying to my husband, "Tara's career is on fire"!
She went from being a sought after stylist to having absolutely no openings for weeks. She continued to get better and more talented as time passed. Tara soon became my Director of Education and is responsible for all of the classes for Color Bar 51. Her insatiable palate for education is contagious in our salons!

I don’t usually write reviews but the unprofessional behavior of some of the staff at this salon prompted me to warn anyone considering making an appointment here. I made my first appointment for a blowout and learned only after waiting 15 minutes that I will need to wait another 30 minutes. I arrived on time by the way. No value if people’s time and callous attitude. Go elsewhere.

Truly the best hair salon I’ve ever been to. Super clean, great environment, and friendly staff. It was a struggle to find a stylist that knew how to deal with curly hair but, Krista does a fantastic job. I’ve gotten my hair done here numerous times and each time, I leave feeling more confident and beautiful.

I booked with tangled up from a referral of a friend and I couldn't be happier with my hair! Went in with overgrown and never dyed hair and Krista styled it and got the exact color and look I was going for! She was super kind and comforting through out the process as well! Can't wait to go again in the future!

Krista is AMAZING & she is super sweet!! All I can say is I found my person !! No one has everrrrrrr and I mean EVER made me love my curls then Krista! She did a Ouidad cut and style which I loveee and I am obsessed with!! She was very detailed with everything and even helped me with my after care routine. Thank you for giving my curls life ❤️

My first experience was in March with Krista, it was honestly amazing. Super friendly, professional and talented. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she just went above and beyond my expectations. Over all I had an amazing experience at the salon and with Krista. So bad. I am going to another salon to get a bob to fix the mess that they made of my hair. I have curly hair and paid extra for the ouidad cut. My service took about 30 minutes including the wash. I was not shown the back of my head at the end. I was sent out onto the street with soaking wet hair because “it looks best when it dries naturally”. It does not curl. The layers are not even. My face frame is a ridiculously short bang. I paid $88 for this and now must pay another salon again to fix this. Avoid this place at all costs. I regret coming here.

Just had my hair cut and colored at Tangled Up and I couldn't be happier with the results! My dirty blonde balayage came out great and looks so natural. The staff here are so much fun and great to talk to, and very experienced stylists. 10/10 will definitely be coming back!
