The best food we have ever had. The flavors compliment each other so well and the cuisine is unique compared to what we usually have. I wish we lived here so we could eat here all of the time.

What an interesting selection of ingredients and flavors! Though on the expensive side, this place has got some great main meals and drinks that are more gourmet bistro style than "southwestern" as labeled on Google Maps. The wait staff is friendly and on-the-spot. And the interior decor is a intriguing mix of art, ranch cabin, and grill. We'll definitely be back again!

After a long day, a great place and a good meal we're what was needed. Salado is exactly what I needed. I sat at the bar enjoying a Breckenridge gin and tonic while deciding on an entree. I decided on the Venison with asparagus and mashed potato's. It was delicious, the sauce had a slight tang to it that complimented the dish very well. The venison cooked medium was tender and flavorful. The mashed potato's were not mashed smooth, a texture I enjoy and the asparagus was cooked just right, with a slight satisfying crunch when I bit into it.
I would most certainly recommend enjoying

Stopped on our way to Mt. Princeton. What a find! The pork green chili was obviously house made and the jalapeño elk sausage was mild and tasty. We also got fried cheese curds (awesome!), calamari (very tender), Santa Fe burgers (great aoli and avocado) and the Navajo taco (a bit spicy). We thought the Santa Fe burgers and fries were the best! We will stop again in the future!

We stopped in for dinner last night and the staff was very accommodating. Overall the food was well thought out and well prepared, but the drinks were a little lacking. If the drinks were on-point this would have been a five star night.

We ordered a few salads that turned out to be quite good. The cilantro avocado dressing was delicious. Originally, wanted kale salad because we liked all ingredients in it except kale. Well, they couldn't substitute kale for arugula or spinach. I wonder if their salads come as kits and not made from scratch that's why they couldn't substitute kale..
Flank steak was a little tough but sweet potatoes and beans tasted great. Good selection of white & red wines. Prompt and polite service.

Salado is the perfect place for a casual lunch or dinner. It's located on the picturesque Main St. of Fairplay. (Think Wild West vibes)
We enjoyed the stuffed jalapeños for our appetizer. Roasted and filled with cotija and cream cheese, topped with bacon and a honey mandarin sauce drizzle. These were delish.
I had the Navajo taco. It comes with ground beef, pinto beans, corn, tomatoes, green chilies, and crema on a traditional fry bread. It was flavorful and unique and just the right amount for lunch. I also opted for the soup as my side and got the pork green chili. It was great!

Never knew this street existed or this restaurant. The atmosphere was very inviting. It started raining just after we were seated outdoors and they happily moved us inside. The service was good and the food was ok.

What a treat! Randomly stopped here on the trip from Colorado to New Mexico.

Whoever the chef is here - kudos! A unique menu and everything was tasty. I got the southwest salad with blue corn polenta and the flavor was great!

Only thing to note - we watched the restaurant fill up quickly and, like most places, they're short on staff after the pandemic. I would recommend getting a reservation for everyone's benefit :)

Salado was recommended to us by our son in Denver. He mentioned the green chili specifically. We had the green chili, cactus fries and jalapeño poppers. The green chili was very flavorful and had just about the right amount of heat (spice), I would classify it as mild spice. The jalapeño poppers were amazing. We also love the cactus fries. We had a nice bottle of Pinot that went well with everything. We will definitely go back. The hostess was great, recommending the Pinot we had which was right on. Our server, Jordan was great also.

Great find for a delicious lunch after exploring Historic South Park City. We did have a bit of a wait for lunch, but they explained there is just an employee shortage so they're all working as fast as they can.
Everyone was very pleasant helped us to choose great dishes for lunch and EVERYTHING was AMAZING!! Such delicious flavors, high quality ingredients and fresh! We tried to go back for dinner but learned you need reservations, but they have a separate dinner menu that looked wonderful. So its on our list for our next visit.

Rude!
Snatched the menu out of my hand! I am fine with using my phone. If you don't want me to touch your menu, put them away. You don't need to snatch it away from me and tell me I can't have it when you left them sitting out. Ridiculous!

This place came recommended to us from Platte Ranch after our horseback ride (also highly recommend them) and it was so so delicious. Everything was fresh and hot, super tasty, and service was friendly and attentive. Only negative was they charged me a $1 for a ramekin of extra sauce for my calamari app and I didn't find out until I saw the bill.

We wanted to have a nice dinner on our last night in Colorado, and were so glad we stumbled on Salado while perusing Yelp! Our group ordered the quail, braised shortrib and two other dishes that I can't remember right now and everything was phenomenal! We also ordered some cocktails and everything tasted so good!

Our first time visiting Fairplay we've been having a great time enjoying the town. We couldn't wait to enjoy ourselves at this restaurant; we were really looking forward to a great dinner.

We just left after Robin's horrible customer service. We had reservations but no tables were available when we arrived; first strike- but would've been fine if everything else went smoothly. We waited 15 minutes for a table just for them to tell us that our party of 6 wouldn't be seated together. We didn't want to break up our group, but didn't want to wait any longer so we

Salado had an amazing selection. We were early enough for happy hour, so we got 2 of the $7 appetizers. We tried both the cactus fries and the jalapeno poppers. They were both really good, but the jalapeno poppers were our clear favorite. They were a little spicy with salty and sweet. For dinner, I got the roasted poblano, and my husband got the trout. Of course, we sampled each other's dishes, and they complemented each other really well. We finished off the meal with dessert. We enjoyed dinner so much that we returned for dinner the next night for more jalapeno poppers and to try the salads.
