Ivanhoe Motel & Apts

We stayed at the Ivanhoe Motel in July and August and the 2 bedroom unit was vary spacious. The owner and manager were very nice and the 2 maids were also very nice. We were very satisfied and will continue to stay at the Ivanhoe every summer. John and Lynn Makowiec

Very shady owners. Quoted on price did a bait and switch. Will never stay again. No washcloths and place was dirty.

Room was dirty. Smelled like mold and drawers smelled. Woman in charge was rude. Asked for tissues she said just use toilet paper. Outside lights were turned off at 10:50 at night leaving it hard to see. Someone’s smoke alarm went off for hour and a half before it was turned off. Grill and grill utensils were filthy. Parking lot layout is atrocious. Can’t check in one minute early. No housekeeping. Overall atrocious. Only good thing was location,ac,and fridge. Florentine is much better this is the u pay for booking late. This was a last resort thing. Should have just stayed on beach.

I wish I had the option of no star. I already knew this place was overpriced, management was rude an unaccommodating but I tried a second time for location. The first time I left an extremely expensive and well known bathing suite in the room. When I realized after check out and called no one had seen it, even though I knew it’s exact location. Ok. When I returned this time I asked again right before check out, the person at the desk immediately looked annoyed and asked me didn’t you call? Yes I did. We've been coming here for almost 20 years and we love it here. The rooms are always clean the staff if very nice and the location is excellent! We love that there is a no partying attitude. If someone has loud music they are asked to turn it down. It is a great family friendly place. We won't stay anywhere else.

Owner is very RUDE must’ve called my room 15 times before 10 o’clock checkout I’m not a child I stay there to relax not to be harassed. Overpriced for condition of rooms

The old lady in the office is very stingy. The rooms have a very bad smell. There is no housekeeping and no cleaning of the rooms . The pool closes at 7 pm for some reason and they kick you out as soon as it turns 7 pm. The tub and the tub covers are very dirty. The owner turns off the light outside at night. They don’t clean anything at all. All they do is change the towels

Only good thing about this place is the location. 1 block from the board walk. Other than that, there is no room service, lights go off at around 10pm, pool closes 7pm, no barbeque after 8:30pm. Everything here is old and probably from the 90s. Bathroom drapes were yellow and disgusting. There was also no soap on my arrival. The owner is so stingy with everything, she will take a deposit for the room key lol. I honestly don't understand how they got a 4.1 star rating should be a 2 star.

This hotel is old but very clean motel. We asked for a small room, for one night, and that’s what we got. I am not sure how old the hotel was but it seemed to be from the 1950’s or 60’s when looking at the bathroom. It had a very powerful AC, a brand new microwave, and a newer refrigerator. Pool opened at 10, we were not able to take advantage of it. The location was awesome, walking distance to the boardwalk and main attractions. Again, it was very clean, it is not a 10 star hotel. Didn’t even get to stay in the hotel. We accidentally booked for the wrong dates at another hotel owned by the owner, we cancelled for the incorrect dates and went to rebook for the right ones. they told us to come to this hotel as there was rooms available and it was cheaper. We called, they told us to call back. We waited for 40 minutes with no call back from them. We called them, the lady who answered was rude, asked for our ages (everyone is of age) and told us they would not book a room with us because we cancelled at the other hotel and then hung up on us. I came with my family for vacation here at this hotel and they kicked me and my family out because the color of our skin my kids where in the pool with my fiancé and they told my kids and my fiancé the pool was close and it's wasn't after my family got out the pool they started cleaning it and then reopened it for the "white folks " I'm disgusting disappointed and enraged ... they need to be boycotted and needs to be shut down I need to be heard ... they even had a nerve to lie to me and said that other customers where complaining about to much noise and my kids where

I was at Ivanhoe at the same time as the review of Denise. It had nothing to do with "color" as others of the same "color"are there as well. It was time for the pool to close and as health guideline requirements they are to sanitize and spray when closing for the day. And this COVID is making sanitizing more necessary than ever. Maybe behavior had a lot with these guests being asked to leave. I have been at Ivanhoe 4 years and they treat everyone the same.

Ok so this vacay experience was AMAZING! My family and I were so comfortable and relaxed!! Dianne and Darlene are the most hospitable staff I have ever met!! They are genuine, funny and just good people they truly make you feel like you are the only guests there!!! The special attention we get from them makes check out kind of sad I will miss them for the next 365 days!

I have stayed at the Ivanhoe about 5 times. I love that place! Owner Marge and her staff Diane and Darlene are super nice. I'm a natural-born germophobe, so cleanliness is EXTREMELY important to me. Ivanhoe gets major points from me in that area. I WILL be back. Count on it...

Stay away!! The woman that owns this place is a very nasty woman.
We sent a deposit to stay for a 3day weekend but was laid off at work at had to cancel the trip, We cancelled 2 WEEKS before the check in date but was refused our deposit back.
Not a big problem, I understand how business works. When I called her to say that if you are not going to refund our 1 night deposit, we'll have to use the room for just 1 night, I was told "Oh no you're not", you cancelled your reservation".
So, she would not refund our money AND refused to give us anything for it.

Stay far away. Pictures on website are very deceiving i stayed here two years ago... and the maid staff looked a bit on the weird side. It was so expensive for the piece of crap they put you in. Very small and mildew feel. you can stay in way way way better places for your money! My favorite place to stay is the Aqua beach which is a 5 star compared to this dump! i would recommend there!
