Spokane City Credit Union's mission is to prudently promote and serve the genuine financial needs of our members with trust, education, and dignity. When SCCU was founded in 1934, it was called City Employees Credit Union of Spokane. It was an occupation-based credit union, like so many credit unions of the time, and all of our members were employed by the City of Spokane.

I’ve been going to Spokane City Credit Union since I was a young girl. My whole family banked here forever if that tells you anything!:) Everyone who works here feels like family as most of them have been here forever, so in my mind, they must be doing something right to have little to no turnover and get to see the same smiling faces when I stop by. Their online banking is great! They take good care of their customers and I couldn’t say enough good things about this establishment! Great rates too!:) I would recommend then any day over a large banking institution! Credit unions is where it’s

Teeny and best credit union with the lowest loan rates. I have gotten 2 loans here in the last 2 years. They finance motorcycles. Yay. I am a fan of the "i own it" aspect of non profit credit unions. The building is pretty cool and it is in an old and pretty funky fun Spokane neighborhood. I like the vibe. I love the nice people. But most of all because I'm a cheapskate, I like the rates. Note: to join a credit union i needed a credit score at 650 or better and no unpaid collections, because it is an actual membership not just an account like at a for profit bank. 650 is hardly perfect credit,

This is a solid, small town financial institution. The tellers will greet you by name once they get to know you. They aren’t fancy, big or complicated. Mobile banking is clunky but functional. They tend to be conservative when it comes to underwriting loans. They only have one location and two ATMs I think.
Overall, if you want a big box bank experience and the gadgets and flashy tools that go along, this isn’t the place. If you, like me, want a simple, straightforward banking relationship for the long term, I can’t think of a better place in Spokane.

Worked out nicely for a quick unsecured loan. The experience was nice. In and out as long as you have perfect credit. The biggest and most troubling part is that I have yet to receive my first bill. It’s been over 30-days now. Creating a login account has been terrible. Getting an account number that works and isn’t cryptic to establish access to my account info using their phone app is daunting and still haven’t been able to access it.
I finally decided to just send money to the loan account in hopes that I’d get to them. I had to call to verify. Once verified I sent off a larger amount

I have banked with SCCU for well over 20 years. I have always found their staff to be helpful and caring. Their online banking however is the worst in the business, even after their latest upgrades. the login process is nothing short of rediculous and no good app. I travel extensively and live in 2 states in opposite parts of the country so rely on online banking. sadly, I will have to start the tedious process of changing all of my auto deposits and payments to my Wells Fargo account that has a great website, app and easy to use online banking

I asked the older male teller what my interest rate was on my savings account the other day. After informing me of what their interest rate was for their basic savings account (0.05%) he stated, "it's not much, but better than a kick in the pants." I will be looking for another credit union to store my emergency fund.
