Spokane Firefighters Credit Union was founded by Spokane Firefighters in 1934, during the Great Depression. This was a time when trust in banks was at an all time low and Americans with common interests banded together to form their own financial cooperatives.
While many credit unions have expanded their membership fields to include just about anyone, we have remained closed to all except those that we have always served, which are firefighters and their families. We believe in slow and steady growth by becoming our members' primary financial institution; a one-stop shop for financial services.
