Yoga is a complete system, as it is designed to balance body, energy and mind, it offers tools for coping in a balanced, stress-free way with life, it shows us ways of understanding ourselves deeply, and it helps us find our center. With a little effort and regular practice, one receives many benefits.
According to the vision of Vedanta, all our experiences stem from our innermost being, which is unlimited, formless conscious awareness. In this 6-session course we will explore ourselves as the awareful being with the help of yoga asanas, pranayama, and meditation. Whoever you are and whatever is your life-style, incorporating some yoga practice into your daily life can do wonders!

Just returned from the ashram over last few weeks....such a great place, great vibe...a true oasis surrounded in nature. They even organize early morning meditative walks, often to the neighbouring lake...gorgeous views. Meals were extremely delicious...good variety of dishes. The workshops/seminars & yoga-on-the-mat given by staff so very inspiring...look forward to my return...hopefully soon :-)

I have been coming to the ashram for many years and this year (2021) I noticed a few differences compared to before, in the past. Below is a brief list:
1. before travelling to the ashram, I sent an email asking a question and, a few days later, left a message with the same question - neither was answered.
2. food - very small portions and not enough protein to last between 10 and 6 and; not always of good quality or well cooked. A cook to prepare wholesome, vegetarian, tasty food would be appreciated. I was given green salad with soy sauce as dressing. I found a piece of the butter wrapping

The setting of the ashram is very beautiful and helps you unwind and find more peace. The yoga classes are taught by experienced teachers and the food is healthy and natural. A great spot to go back to the basics, or to challenge your beliefs and find what really matters. What impressed me the most were the staff, very hard working, but still eager to help anyone, friendly and available! Teaching by example! Namaste! 🕉

I usually go to the ashram once a year for two weeks. By the second week I find it easier to go through the activities of the day and to sleep. This time it was different, with the 5 day retreats but I still had a very good time by the time I got to the second one. I have to mention in particular classes with Jnanadev - I appreciate his mindfulness reminders during class and the grounding quality of his teaching. I hope the ashram will have more 3 hour classes like the one we had on the last day. It was magical. I understood at an experiential level then what it means to deepen my practice.

I recently completed three weeks of Panchakarma (detoxification and cleansing treatment) at the beautiful and peaceful Sivananda Ashram Yoga Camp. Thanks to the excellent care provided by Dr. Vishnu and his team of caring therapists my health improved significantly. I feel rejuvenated and I have more energy and strength.

This is one of my favorite places in Canada, for so many reasons. The summer at the camp is lively and full of fun - pool and sauna, hiking, cycling, outings and of course outdoor yoga and satsang in the beautiful yoga hall. Winter at the ashram is more reflective and a little more serious, it's quieter but there is still the sauna to be enjoyed and beautiful snowshoe trails.
The asana are beautifully taught, although beginners will need to modify to their level. The food is good. I try to visit at least once a year and highly recommend! Bring a meditation cushion if you need one for long periods
