Good homey place right in the center of town. A bit pricey but good food. Very slow service. Super friendly staff and good view. Good breakfast place.

Good basic traditional breakfast, nothing fancy. Frankly I couldn't stand the bitter strong brews at the highly rated breakfast joints in town. Starbucks copycats I guess, and I can't stand that place or their coffee. Pancakes were good, eggs too.

Service and food were both good with absolutely no frills. Adirondack breakfast was very standard. No complaints.

Food is below average and the service is even worse. Don't waste your time or money coming here. Came here w/ a big party-- they were severely understaffed. And they were rude. I got Nick's breakfast w the blueberry pancakes and bacon. The blueberries were extremely bland, no flavor and ugh, I can't say enough bad things about this restaurant and I'm normally not one to complain.

The service was really bad but the food was really good. The place was virtually empty but it took them 50 mins to get our meals of French toast scrambled eggs and bacon

The food was excellent but it did not make up for the lack of service. I feel like when we visited they must have been short staffed because our service was between three different people whose efforts did not equal one. My meal was completely forgotten and I had to ask about it three times over 20 mins before they realized the chef missed it on the ticket. Worst of all they automatically (and fairly inconspicuously) added an automatic tip to our check when we were only a party of 4.

The service is extremely slow. Servers do not seem to have a sense of urgency or come to check on table after order has been taken. I would not recommend this establishment. Went to cafe 185 yesterday and were in and out in a half hour. We have been here for 45 minutes waiting for omelette and pancakes. Still have yet to be served our food.

The food was good, but I was shocked when I got my bill. $2.50 for soda and they charge full price for every refill! That costs more than a gallon of gas. Also, waitress/hostess seemed to have a snarky attitude. Maybe she was having a bad morning.

Classic breakfast menu at a reasonable price. The service was great. We ate inside which was very comfortable, but you could also eat on the porch. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the home fries were delicious.

Outrageous that they charge so much for mediocre food. :-( Service was great though.
Eggplant parm was mostly breading. Chicken parm tasted just weird! Frozen? Bread was stale. Second batch was fresh though.

More like 2.5 star place but I'll give it a bump to 3 considering the food around Lake George is awful slop.

The homemade pasta is fairly good but the other stuff added just doesn't taste that good. I tried two homemade pasta dishes and was very underwhelmed, even though each dish was adequate but nothing gave me that "oh, that's good" reaction. And for the prices I should have that reaction.

I ordered the tiramisu on the recommendation of other Yelp reviewers and it was too sweet and dry/starchy. The mascarpone cheese was hard to taste over the sugar and the lady

After a few blah meals out of convenience we decided to get some yelp finding a good restaurant nearby. No surprise that many of the places were poorly rated - but once again we were saved finding this place just up the road. My wife and I both went with the homemade pasta. I got the bolognese and my wife had the pesto fettuccine. It didn't disappoint and there wasn't anything left afterwards. The pastas were cooked perfect and the sauces were delicious. The kids had pastas were huge and even after they stuffed themselves they still wanted to bring it back in case they got hungry. Our

Maybe more like 2.5 stars.

Right on the edge of Lake George Village, Porreca's is surrounded by motels and are only open 6 months out of the year. There's outdoor seating available, and but the weather was too humid for us to sit outside. The calamari appetizer was underseasoned, lacking in any flavor. I ordered the king salmon as an entree, which actually looked and tasted like chicken. The homemade parpadelle bolognese was a hit for the others in our party, but I personally thought it had a weird aftertaste.

For dessert, the tiramisu was highly recommended, and they actually

I don't use a sliding scale, I may mention that a certain establishment is head an shoulders above the local competition, but the star ratings are the same for NYC and Lake George. That being said; yes best resto within a 28 mile radius, you have to go to Saratoga Springs to find something on this level and Porreca's is probably better than half the decent places there.

The room has a logde feel which given the mountain and the lake is fitting. There is just barely a view of the lake. The dinning room is spacious the tables are not cramped, the bar is on split level and

As mentioned in other reviews, this place is the best restaurant in Lake George. It exceeds expectations by providing food and service at such a great quality, it would make the Queen of England jealous.

Our visit to Porreca's was a little too early. They apparently open at 5:00pm and we arrived to a locked door at around 4:40pm. I was getting a little disappointed because I really wanted to try this place. But then the chef had let us in and seated us at the bar until the restaurant officially opened.

The view from the bar was nice. You can see a little bit of Lake George out in the

Simply put, given where we are, and what else us around, this place is sOliD ***** :)

Everything we ordered was great. In NYC this place would be a very nice four stars, but given the offerings up here, and the quality of the service, I figured the one star bump is on order.

You won't be disappointed. And with respect to the previous helper that complained about the portion sizes, I beg to disagree. Plenty of food, plenty good.
