Located in the heart of Richmond's historical Fan District, Ms. Babs' Nursery School is a unique daycare for infants 3-months-old to pre-schoolers. Practicing good manners and kindness to others is just a few of the lessons that are learned each day. We celebrate and cultivate our differences, and discover "our special uniqueness" by participating in activities that vary from planting tomatoes to counting potatoes.

Services
The amazing staff at Ms. Babs' Nursery School consists of carefully screened, experienced childcare professionals. Before employment occurs, each staff member is required to participate in a daylong observation. All teachers are CPR-certified and first-aid certified for infants, children and adults.
Originally founded in 2003, Ms. Babs' Nursery School is locally owned and operated by the Cafarella family. After many years in the commercial daycare field, Barbara "Babs" Cafarella started an in-home facility in her own home on Floyd Avenue.
Word quickly spread that this amazing childcare provider was doing one-on-one care and, after a year of opening, the demand for her care grew to the point where she needed to relocate for more space and a bigger school.In 2005, Ms. Babs' Nursery School opened its doors down the street at 2319 Grove Avenue, approximately 5 blocks from her childhood home.

Located in the heart of Richmond's historic Fan District, Ms. Babs' Nursery School is well equipped to give your child a safe, comfortable and diverse environment for structured activities, indoor and outdoor play, meals and snacks, and quiet time. No child goes hungry at Ms. Babs'. Our fully equipped kitchen is run by Ms. Babs', Ms. Ulrika and Mr. Joe, providing hearty, wholesome meals with fresh ingredients on a daily basis.
Our programs are designed to allow each child the opportunity to express him/herself. Playing sports, creating sculptures, performing plays or choreographing dance routines are just a few of the activities that each child can participate in while at Ms. Babs'. We also provide teacher-lead activities and special events that will celebrate various cultures and personal differences.
At Ms. Babs', we want your child to feel as if they are at their home away from home when in our care. That's why we have developed a unique transition program to help your child transition from home to our preschool as comfortably as possible. A week before your child's first full day with us, we schedule 2 to 3 "practice days"!
