Absolute Bikes is an award-winning full-service bike shop located in the heart of historic downtown Salida, Colorado. We are in the historic "Old Feed Store" - just look for the tall metal grain tower along the Arkansas River. We have everything you need, from local trail suggestions and maps, new bikes & specific demo program bikes, service, to a full selection of parts and accessories.

Services
Absolute Bikes is located on the Arkansas river in downtown Salida, in the "Old Feed Store" built in 1903 - just look for the grey metal grain tower. We share our building with Little Cambodia Restaurant so we've got all the essential pre and post ride necessities parking, and bathrooms. We are open 7 days a week year-round.
Due to the unprecedented demand and shortage of bikes, we are NOT doing any rentals for 2021. Everything was great about your shop. The staff was knowledgeable, taught me a bit about bike maintenance when I needed a second tube replacement and gave us great information on local riding. Really can't say enough about your shop.
Check out our favorite trail recommendations! Salida has over 40 miles of trails accessible from town, plus many miles of high alpine riding. The Arkansas Hills and Methodist Mountain systems are our local ride-from-town trails and are rideable almost year-round. In the summer, the Monarch Crest, Rainbow Trail and the Colorado Trail offer awesome single track with unbeatable views and cooler temperatures.
Angel of Shavano Campground- 2WD. 20 wooded campsites with capacity for family or group camping. To get to Angel of Shavano, head west on US 50 out of Poncha Springs for 6 miles until you reach County Road 240; turn right onto CR 240 and drive 3 miles to reach the campground. The campground is situated on the North Fork Road and is approximately 15 miles from Salida.
3.3 Mileage Rates and Fares for Call and Demand Shuttle Service-Mileage rates will apply only in instances where no specific point to point call and demand shuttle rates are published in section 3.2 of this tariff for the services being provided. From Absolute Bikes Sallida, CO to all points within a 35 mile radius of the intersection of F St. and Sackett Ave.

Absolute Bikes puts the cherry on top of Salida, Colorado. So grateful for them to be in this town.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff is what is going to keep me coming back to this shop. Not to mention they have a huge selection of bikes and accessories.

Absolute Bikes is a gem of a store. The employees to a person are open, friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to spend time answering questions, educating the customer based on what their biking needs are, they have an impressive inventory, and they will never pressure anyone into making a purchasing decision - for them it's all about customer service.
They understand that many of the bikes they carry are expensive and so it's imperative that the bike fit the rider's needs and body. They have an amazing accessory inventory too, from glasses, riding apparel, and everything a bike

Absolute Bikes is an awesome shop. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, and most importantly the bike mechanic that helped me was extremely knowledgeable! I came in with a loose cassette and needing a new rear tire from riding the great divide. They were able to identify the cassette issue within minutes and had everything fixed within 20! Highly recommend, especially for divide riders wanting to get their bike tuned up.

They had everything I needed, including a new tail light, electrolyte tablets, and even SPF 15 lip protection, so I could get back out on the road. I also used Absolute's service to pack and ship my bike home, vs doing it myself to take on a plane. They made the process very easy. I highly recommend this shop.

Considering the vast inventory of bikes, parts, and accessories that Absolute carries, they could probably get away with skimping on service. That's not the case though as it's clear from the moment you step inside that service is paramount. Everybody I talked to there was courteous, informative, and eager to help in anyway possible, without any pressure to purchase. Top notch all the way around!

Awesome shop filled with phenomenal people. My wife worked with the majority of the staff to purchase a surprise Yeti for me. While I could easily spend the rest of this review talking about how incredible she is, I have to give these guys some serious kudos. They worked with her over the course of a few months to get me exactly what I wanted. Shawn and Jessica kept her updated with their inventory, and Andrew and Spencer did a great job making sure everything was setup perfectly. I’ll definitely be making yearly trips for my annual tuneup. Can’t recommend this shop enough!

First the good: They made my repairs quickly and at a very reasonable cost.
The less good and somewhat surprising:
I needed a new tube and tube liners for one bike and a new tire for the other. I was told that they may not have the tube or tire to make the repairs. Really? My bikes are very average, with average tire size. After checking; it was determined that they did have a tube and tire. But only ONE choice of tire. They only had ONE tube liner. I asked that they put it in; one is better than none in reducing thorn flats. I presume they didn't put it in, because I wasn't billed

Excellent bike shop!! Shawn and staff were very helpful. Visited his shop in July and helped my boys with walk in repairs. Called a week later to order a new custom Yeti. Shawn answered all my questions. I came back a month later to visit and he custom fit my new bike. I can't praise Absolute Bikes enough. Very helpful, patient, and professional. Keep up the great work!

I have to send some well-deserved kudos to this local bike shop. Customer service doesn't get any better than the service I received from Andrew. ...Planning for our Monarch Crest ride started weeks ago. Andrew provided clear guidance and much-needed recommendations. Upon arrival, he made sure we had everything we needed for the trip to be successful, including loaning us a spare tube and pump. And to top it all off, Andrew offered me a beer when I arrived at the shop after the ride, which I gladly accepted. Just doesn't get any better than this - and I really think this is standard

Andrew was a great guide! He showed me loads of single track trails, checked my confidence levels regularly and arranged all the gear for me, as i had flown in to Colorado. He also shared local knowledge of the area and in general he could not have made it easier or more accommodating, I had a brilliant time and would highly recommend Absolute Bikes or guided rides. And their shop looked very well stocked up!

Wow! Took one of my mountain bikes in with a failed shifter thoroughly expecting to replace it. The mechanic looked at it, cleaned it and worked shifting the shifter on the rack for about 15 minutes all the time telling me it should start working again. Sure enough it did. I asked how much I owed and was told to just make sure to come back to Absolute Bikes when I really needed something. NO CHARGE. I was absolutely floored. My wife and I just relocated from Phoenix in January. I can tell you this would not have been the same story had I gotten it repaired at the bike shops in Phoenix. I am sure

Absolute is the best! My husband and I both got our bikes here and will be buying for the kids next. The fitting service is amazing. The attention to detail and the desire to get your bike set up perfectly for you is really above and beyond. I know that if I have any issues with the bike that they will be resolved, as my husband has received top-notch service.
My kid will start a camp with them soon and I'm excited for him to learn from the best. They were also at our school today running some kind of program. Awesome community engagement.

One of the best bike shops I've ever worked with! Friendly, professional and fun staff, they were all incredibly knowledgeable and went the extra mile! (Which involved staying late just to help get me set up and ready to ride the next morning.) Not a high pressure sales environment, they truly want to put you on a bike you will love and enjoy!
