Services
We can perform suspension service in-house. We are equipped to handle everything from routine maintenance to complete overhauls. We also work together with DirtLabs and FOX to handle any nitrogen charged service issues. Our staff can help you get dialed in through proper saddle fit, personalized insoles, and proper cockpit setup.
The Arkansas Hills Trail System (S-Mountain) are the closest trails to downtown Salida, just across the river on F Street bridge. Some of our local favorites are here, Cottonwood Trail, Backbone, Hooligan, Rusty Lung, Dude Abides, Sand Dunes, and Chicken Dinner. This area is on the warm side of the valley so many of the trails stay relatively warm and snow-free during the winter.
Methodist Mountain's "anchor trail" is the Little Rainbow. It's mostly machine built so it is wide and wonderful. Ride or shuttle up to the CR110 trailhead. From here, ride over to Race Track and down, then back to town. If more time and legs, explore the Double Rainbow as an out and back before jumping on the Little Rainbow.
This IMBA EPIC, is located at the top of Monarch pass, on the Continental Divide. It is a 35-mile ride full of technically varied, high-alpine singletrack. In addition to the classic ride, there are plenty of options for alternative rides such as South Fooses Creek, Greens Creek, Agate Creek, Silver Creek, and Rainbow trails.

Great spot. We rented a couple of really awesome mountain bikes and the dudes there were super nice and really knowledgeable. The bikes had incredible suspension and droppers which I didn’t expect on a rental but absolutely loved the smooth ride. They gave us a bunch of great recommendations on trails - you can tell they know their stuff. Also just super cool, nice guys to chat with. Thanks for the great service!

The crew at Subculture is absolutely awesome. I rented a Specialized Stumpy for a week and can't tell you how impressed I was with the rental process. It's not just about turning bikes here...the team put me through a good fit process, adjusted the bike to optimize fit on the spot, and are straight up pros at setting up suspension. Furthermore, my brother's busted a** 2011 Pivot needed new rotors and pads and the service team jumped on the job while I was getting fitted and had the job done just as I was ready to ride.out of the shop. Beyond the technical aspect the team was stoked to give us ALL

CRUSHED the trails within riding distance of the shop! My bike was solid. Without great equipment, I'm risking my safety. Sub-Culture goes over & beyond in renting quality bikes. The staff is amazing and very helpful recommending trails based on your skill set. I will absolutely rent from these guys again the next time I am in Salida.

I was in town to ride some local trails, so I dropped in on the shop just to check it out. They had some nice merch, and a good selection of shoes, etc. so that was a plus. But the staff was even better. One guy helped me find a new saddle- measured me and spent a considerable amount of time explaining all of my options. A different guy helped me install my new saddle. Instead of just doing it for me, he actually talked me through it so I could learn how to make any adjustments myself. Super friendly and helpful staff, made my day!

Rad rad rad. As a mechanic, I travel and check out a local bike shop in every city I pass. It's rare to find a shop that's owned and run by real cyclists. These guys are super nice and helpful. Gave us the full beta on all the local trails. Excellent inventory. Everything you need to shred some brown pow
