Salida Bike
Anton van Leuken was born in Yonkers, NY, abruptly moved north to Ithaca, spent time abroad living in the Netherlands (where his parents grew up), and went all the way to Prague before he ever got west of Buffalo. Anton distinctly remembers adjusting his first brake pad on a blue Columbia road bike as his first mechanical attempt.

His first mountain bike, a Specialized Hard Rock, showed up in 1991. So began mountain biking, the breaking of parts, the camaraderie of the group ride, the volunteering at a community bike shop, all while eventually getting an English degree with a minor in Political Science, breaking bones through solely soccer-related incidents, driving a taxi and finally moving out west to Colorado.
Services
Salida Bike Company is proud to carry Giant Bicycles, the world's largest bike manufacturer. Giant has the best value for your dollar. If we don't have the bike you're looking for in stock, we can order anything from the Giant line-up.

We typically stock what's popular in our area: men's and women's hardtail mountain bikes with suspension forks starting at $350 and going up to $1095, single-speed and three-speed town bike cruisers, and comfort bikes for bike trails and dirt roads.
Giant has the best value for a high-quality bike for your kid. And Salida Bike Company stocks everything from very small bikes with training wheels for your son or daughter, to cruisers perfect for running around town, to BMX bikes ready for the pump track, to full scale mountain bikes to get your kids out on the Rainbow Trail.
Surly Bikes aren't fancy, but they are core and super functional. These bikes will take you anywhere on the planet you want to ride - across the Himalayas on a singlespeed 29er Karate Monkey, Colorado cyclocross racing on a Cross-Check, riding across the entire USA on a Long Haul Trucker, freezing your toes off on the Iditarod trail on the back of a Moonlander.
Now owned by Thule, the Chariot trailer is at the top of the list! We like them for their light weight, high quality construction, ease of use and function, and multiple options for hiking, skiing, as well as jogging, shopping and towing behind just about any bicycle. An investment in making sure your kids come with you on any outing!.
Where do we begin? Salida Bike Company won't stock hundreds of everything, but we will stock the nice option and the cheap option. And by cheap we mean inexpensive cheap, not cheap cheap by the way. Bike pumps, floor pumps, tubes of all sizes and valve stem lengths, the 26 tire that actually fits your Schwinn and the other ones too; brake pads, cables, grips, bells, racks and baskets, chains and much more.

I stopped in with a broken spoke in the middle of a TransAmerica bicycle tour and Isaac and Grant gave me the royal treatment! Not only were they exceedingly friendly and welcoming, they repaired my bike for free, AND they even gifted me a new pair of Salida Bike Company socks. Such a cool shop. Thank you fellas! I’d give you 10 stars if I could.

Tour Divide Riders: This is the bike shop to go to in Salida! Highly recommend this place if you need to get your bike tuned/repaired! Staff and owner are very cool people! (Bonus: they even have a shower in the back so you can wash off all that dust and mud while your bike is getting worked on).

Was awesome service and a nice shop. Cat was efficient and even went above and beyond what I had asked her to do and didn't even charge me ...
And they give away stickers!
I would recommend this shop for all your needs, they will keep you pedaling.
