The Genesee Falls Inn is a family style victorian bed and breakfast located in the heart of Portageville. The Genesee Falls Inn was built in 1870, we purchased it back in 2008 and fixed her back up to her original Victorian glory. We are located 1/2mile from the Portageville entrance of Letchworth State Park, which makes it easy access to the park for Hikers and bikers.
The Genesee River runs directly behind the Genesee Falls Inn which flows northward from Northern Pennsylvania through Letchworth State Park. Letchworth State park which is only 1/2 mile from The Genesee Falls Inn Portageville entrance is renowned The Grand Canyon of the east, which is one of the most scenically magnificent areas in the eastern U.S.

My family had a wonderful time at Genesee Falls Inn. We loved the history and the beautiful setting. From the Inn we could visit Letchworth State Park & go hot air ballooning with ease, and we took a day trip to Niagara Falls. This place, although a bit antiquated, was one of the best places I've stayed at in the hospitality/service industry.

Pros: Convenient access to Letchworth SP entrance.
Cons: Exterior is in dire need of repairs and overall cleanup. Owner lives far away and leaves Inn to be managed by housekeeper. We were left all alone in this place as we were the only guests. No staff was on sight and front door was left open. We paid extra for breakfast and it was just an assortment of pop tarts and the like. Room needed some update work and maintenance to make it feel cleaner, bed was uncomfortable, carpet dirty, and window AC was very noisy. This place could be made into a nice Inn, but the efforts have just not been made

Beautiful historical hotel. Has a lot of potential but a lot of the electricant work we were definitely not giving any kind of discounts because they were using covid as an excuse why there wasn't a hot breakfast. We ended up with bananas and some oatmeal and yogurt. They could have at least discounted 13 people that were there that we had in our group which was a lot of money some kind of discount I really feel I was very turned off. Had to get my own ironing board. Hopefully they stepped their game up because we won't be back next year we've been there 2 years in a row. No cable. The TV's in

Love staying in different places. The Genesee Falls Inn definitely was that. Hospitality was great and we were welcomed to check out all the rooms at the Inn. It still needs a lot of updating but the rooms are beautifully decorated with period furnishings; just like walking back in time. It's not a five star hotel by any means but if you are looking for something different with a lot of history, this is the place to stay. Cell service is pretty much zero but our hostess let us use the land line to call home. It's a 5 minute drive to Letchworth Park from the Inn.

This is a great place to stay especially if you like history and museums. Not the run of the mill hotel at all. It has charm antiques and lot's of character. However it is old and would require a lot of money to bring back to its former glory. It would also need a forced ventilation system to keep the air fresh. All that said you must come here at least once. It is an experience. The rooms are nice the breakfast is more than sufficient the staff is wonderful. I will add photos later in fact as a photographer this place drew my interest.

As a last minute reservation after our RV broke down outside of the park, Debbie and Jay were a wonderful surprise changing the course of our "Griswold" family vacation. They made sure we had a room large enough to accommodate all four of us comfortably and were more than courteous enough to help us get some of our gear that was left at our campsite. Great people, awesome place with tons of character and charm of how things used to be. We couldn't have stumbled upon better people under our circumstances at the time and will be forever grateful! Highly recommend the Inn for anyone who wants to experience

Check-in wasn’t great as nobody was on the property when we arrived despite giving an arrival time. Once Debbie arrived, she did show us our room and the property. From this point on, Debbie’s hospitality was great and she made us feel at home. This eclectic property feels cluttered and definitely needs updating but it didn’t feel dirty. One thing to note is that you can’t drink the tap water. However, Debbie provided more than enough bottled water for us. The breakfast was terrific with lots of options. Our room (room 1) was very spacious but needed improved lighting, new windows and an

Historic house, great cheaper option for people who like something different. Nice friendly owners. It's a bit old school, but I love it! Lovely decor, very traditional. It's quite spooky to explore during dark, when we came - prior to the weekend and no guests were there. They have a really cool conference bike (bike with 7 seats which was so much fun!)
