Dr. Andrea is a graduate of the University of MN College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Andrea also completed a rigorous one year post doctorate internship in Small Animal Medicine at the U of M. Her special interests include internal medicine, emergency medicine and dentistry. She enjoys working with clients to help them understand how preventive care can set their pet up for success and optimal life expectancy.

A vet office that does not care about animals, clients and is certainly not a hospital!
Called them this morning because our puppy was having breathing/coughing sessions to let them know I am on the way to bring her in. The person that answered the phone told me not to and gave me a name of a different hospital in Golden Valley to take her to (we have never been to that hospital). I mentioned to her that Golden Valley is not close to me but she insisted. Called the Golden Valley hospital only to find out they are closed. Called Gehrman back (all this while driving) to let them know they gave me

Was hoping to find a local vet for my 7 yr-old papillon/ toy poodle mix, so I took him in for the first time in the spring. It's more expensive than other options, but I was OK with that, as long as I could come in prepared on the costs. The first appointment was quick and everyone was friendly. I asked for a quote on teeth cleaning, and they were able to provide me one and mentioned a seasonal discount I could take advantage of. After the check up, I noticed my dog was a bit loopy for the next couple of days, which I thought was odd, since they hadn't mentioned giving him any medication

I have looked for a good vet for years! This is by far the best care I have every received for my 2 dogs. They are our babies and Gehrman has very much earned our trust and appreciation. Fair pricing (I think it's a bargain given the care we get). They are so good I referred my best friend to them (she has my boy Roux's sister Ruby) and she drives from Minneapolis to get service because they are that good. I came back here once Banefield wanted to pull my dog's canine teeth. I trusted Dr.Rob to take care of my dogs teeth instead. My dog doesn't shake when he examines Dr.Rob examines him, so I can tell he makes my dog feel comfortable here. This place is definitely more pricey than Banefield, but I do feel like my dog gets the upmost care, so it was worth it. I do also feel like they are a little test happy here, but you always have the option to refuse.

Dr. Matt and the staff at GAH was wonderful when we needed to guide our little Cosmo over the Rainbow Bridge. We started taking Cosmo here when he was experiencing what we thought were symptoms of IBD, but turned out to be lymphoma. They explained everything and did not rush us at all. Dr. Matt worked wonders in explaining and soothing our broken hearts at this difficult time.

Dr. Andrea and the crew at Gehrman rock!! We have a puppy with health issues and not only is the clinic cutting edge but somehow retains the family atmosphere of yesteryear. Dr. Andrea follows up with us personally via phone. The clinic is definitely run like a business, but understands that our animals are family. I am thankful to have found this clinic.

I feel so fortunate to have access to this accredited animal hospital. It's easy to see why it's accredited too! It has always been my 'go to' vet, but it has been taken over by some of the other vets that have been on staff for several years and it just has a 'new' feel.
The staff is welcoming and helpful.
Dr. Andrea, like no other! She listened to every concern and genuinely addressed each one.
I use to hesitate when it came to annual exams, etc
Never again. I trust GAH. I trust Dr. Andrea. And I trust that my dog is getting the best care money can buy.

The staff is great and very accommodating. I had a really sick puppy, and they were able to see her that same morning. They called throughout the day to give me updates. I thought she had eaten a sock or something, because she was not eating or going to the bathroom. Unfortunately, they found she had Kidney disease, and was likely born with it. There was nothing they could do at that point, but they delivered the news very courteously. They were able to share their X-rays, and ultrasounds so that I could bring them to the breeder to help test future puppies at birth. I will bring my future pets

Miracle Workers!!!
I have been bringing my shih tzu to Gehrman's for nearly 12 years and have had only positive experiences. Each doctor is caring and compassionate and is invested in my dog's health and happiness. In the past two months my dog's health declined (she's almost 15 years old) and I was sure these would be her last days. Dr. Bob revived her, sent us home with a meal recipe, meds, and his cell number to check in with him over the weekend. By the time we got home, my precious pup was back to her bouncy self. Tears of sorrow changed to tears of joy.

We see Dr Ken. He is awesome! I have two toy poodles. One has a seizure disorder (epilepsy). He is always conscience of her condition and will recommend alternative treatments to try and avoid seizure triggers. He even gave my husband a lecture for over feeding the dogs. It is obvious they care a great deal about pets here! Plus, the exam rooms are so clean, I would let them treat me there!

I went back yesterday (3/26/15) after letting them know I was unhappy with the lack of service and care for my dog - see initial review, below. They could not have more concerned, caring and helpful in finding a resolution to my concern regarding the first visit and yesterday's appointment was great! They did not charge me for this second office visit, placed me with a different vet (DR. ANDREA IS THE BEST!) and Alyssa was our AWESOME vet tech. I will definitely be back to Gehrman Animal Hospital, as I left yesterday

My pets are my furbabies and I will give them better care than I give myself sometimes. It is so important to find a vet you like and trust, your pets life is in their hands after-all.
The location of Gehrman can't get much better for the westsiders. The parking lot is a bit small and I have had to park on the street before, but no big deal since the street is pretty clear most of the time.
Dr. Andrea is one of the sweetest ladies you will meet and she really cares about your baby. I recommend seeing her, but I am sure any of the other Vet's would be equally as delightful, professional

I've had good service and caring attention from this veterinarian's office. I will agree that it's expensive but the places we tried before cost less but it showed in what we got out of the visits.
For example after we had to put a dog down, we got a very thoughtful card from them. Also when my other dog was experiencing scary symptoms, and I called just before closing to see about coming in the next morning; our vet wasn't there but another vet reviewed the file over the phone, talked to me about the symptoms and then left meds out for us to pick up after hours and pay for

As "one of those" dog owner's, who treat their dog as a member of the family, I did a bit of research to find the best Vet in the area to treat my little guy. We live in N. Mpls, but will drive to Ridgedale area just to see Dr. Brodie. She always gives my baby the attention he needs and I feel/know he is safe in her hands.
The other Dr's there are just as nice, when Brodie isn't available I am just as comfortable seeing anyone else there.
